What a wonderful place to relax ,well positioned to explore Argyle and Bute or just stay on site and wander round the woodland paths.Very good facilities, good gravel pitches and Annie is a friendly and knowledgeable host.We judge all campsites by this standard now and find ourselves saying this is nice but it's not Glendaruel.
The site is set back from the road and is really peaceful. The facilities are good and very clean and the site well looked after. Annie was very friendly and helpful, thank you for a great stay Very close to Benmore botanical gardens, a great place to visit. Nice bike ride to Tignabruich, taking in the views of Bute and the sea
We were walking the Cowal Way and this site was very convenient for us. Considering that we could have squeezed 4 into the bothy, it was excellent value for money.Annie was wonderful. I had much communication with her before we arrived and she was so friendly and helpful, and very welcoming when we arrived. I can't comment on the area facilities as we arrived late and left early, walking through, but it's a beautiful area and we would like to return for longer.
Lovely setting, stunning area with plenty of history. Have been several times for road cycling and quiet roads with plenty of hills. Annie who runs the site is helpful and friendly.
We only stayed for one night as we where on route to Arran by motorcycle, Annie met us on arrival and was very friendly, the site is really tidy and the facilities are spotless If you are planning a visit, be aware that you'll need to take provisions with you as there isn't anywhere local to the site.I plan to return to the area soon and would have no reservations about using the site again
Beautiful spot, Annie was so friendly and welcoming and it’s a lovely site. Well laid out, clean facilities and a great place to base yourself to explore a fabulous region.
Very thoughtfully designed site for tents, covered seating, kitchen, clean showers - Great host in Annie
Glendaruel is in a beautiful setting. The park itself is lovely and relaxing. Toilet facilities and kitchen well looked after, always clean. Annie, the owner is extremely helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. Worth noting you need to come prepared as you are a few miles from the nearest shop. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing stay in a,stunning location, Glendaruel is just perfect .
A gem of a site, made especially attractive by the kindness and consideration of Annie and Peter (whose dexterity on the lawnmower never fails to impress). Because it's in a relatively little known corner of Argyll and the access is along a main road which leads to nowhere on the standard tourist itinerary, the site is generally quiet and peaceful -- which is why we chose it -- although the inevitable corollary is that if you arrive a litre of milk short the nearest shop is a 30 min drive. In compensation there are three very decent local hotels which provide good (if fairly pricey) food for non residents and several of the local householders can supply delicious eggs when their hens are in lay. We shall definitely be back next season.
My husband and I recently enjoyed a mini break at Glendaruel Caravan Park, and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. This was our second visit to the park. The cabin we stayed in was the perfect little retreat—it was genuinely cosy, incredibly peaceful, and clearly well-maintained. It provided the tranquil escape we were looking for.Beyond the lovely accommodation, the park itself is run beautifully. The facilities are above average and meticulously looked after, making our stay easy and comfortable. However, what truly elevated our entire experience was the owner, Annie. She is an absolute joy to be around—so welcoming, helpful, and clearly passionate about ensuring every guest has a fantastic time, which makes all the difference.
