Good position for coastal walks. Facilities ok, however the shower on/off/ temperature control is very easy to knock as shower cubical is quite narrow in depth. If you do this the temperature is so hot and you cannot move far enough away to avoid scolding yourself. I do appreciate having a manual shower control but the lever could be stiffer to avoid accidental movement.
Fantastic site, super clean, very friendly service and an amazing view to wake up to. Highly recommend staying here.
We arrived in the dark and had no idea what the campsite was like until the next morning,, but were overjoyed with the view of the castle and the sea . We had a cliff top pitch and it was perfect. Short walk along the coastal path took you into the picturesque town of Portpatrick , full of pubs and a very interesting curiosity shop , absolutely love this town and the campsite,, would definitely recommend and hope to return .
Accommodating and friendly staff who keep the grounds and facilities very clean. Short walk along the coast to get into Portpatrick and plenty to see and do in the area. We will definitely be back again
Lovely quiet site with very clean facilities block. Welcoming staff. Short walk to Dunskey castle and along the coast into Portpatrick. Great location for exploring the surrounding area including Mull of Galloway.
This is our second visit to Galloway Point. It is such a peaceful site with amazing views and spotlessly clean facilities. Showers are free - no push buttons - and there are wash up and laundry facilities should you need them. The easy cliff top walk into Portpatrick, where you will find a number of pubs/cafes and a well stocked local shop - takes about 15 minutes, and if you want to stretch your legs a bit further there are cliff top walks to either side of the site which are ideal for dogs. There is also a small cafe bar just outside the entrance to the site, but sadly it was closed at the time of our visit.
We only booked for the 1 night but decided to stay for the 2 as lovely site, very clean and very friendly staff only downfall was the toilets and showers were a little walk away but that would not stop us staying again. Beautiful views with short walk to Port Patrick.
Good pitch close to the facilities which were very clean. Only issue we had was trying to put up our awning - the pegs we had just kept coming out. Nice park and was good for exploring the area
Stayed here in September and on arrival we were asked if we’d like a pitch close to shower block or with a view and were told if we had the view it would be a short 2 min walk to showers. We chose the pitch with a view across the sea and moorland and it was wonderful. It was good to have staff who gave a choice of pitches and their advice was helpful. We loved the walk into Portpatrick , bracing and very scenic. Had a good meal in the village and our dog loved a run on the beach. The site was very dog friendly with an enclosed field and for a change there were no signs stating don’t do this and don’t do that which we’ve noted in a lot of sites we’ve stayed in England. Everyone stuck to the rules of the site without notices and signs everywhere. Would return if ever in this part of Scotland again
Very friendly and clear reception process, facilities lovely and clean and all within walking distance of Port Patrick pubs.
