As a traditional country pub and restaurant, The Duke Of York at Pomeroy also has a lovely adult-only campsite with fantastic views and hardstanding pitches with electric. The modern shower and toilet facilities benefit from underfloor heating for those colder days. Traditional homemade and locally sourced food - breakfast, coffee, lunch and evening meals - and real ales are served in our dining room and cosy dog-friendly bar. A small kiosk shop stocks everyday items with fresh supplies available to pre-order
We have an all year round adult only 30 pitch caravan site, mostly hardstanding. All pitches have their own electric hook up. There is a water point for every 2 pitches (shared).
Our shower and toilet block has been recently upgraded and in addition to the expected quality showers and toilets, we also provide a pot washing area. We also have a shower and toilet facility for disabled guests.
**Dogs – Max 2 per pitch. We request that all dogs are kept on leads at all times on site. The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act. Although we do not have a dog exercise field, we are bordered by many footpaths and close to the High Peak Trail. Dogs are welcome in the bar area of the pub.
Hardstanding Pitch with 16 Amp EHU and a shared water tap (between 2 pitches). Suitable for 7m or less.

Food and beer as always spot on shame we had to cut the weekend short as we got invited to an event on the SundayEarly doorsWe’ll definitely be back this season 😁
We really can’t fault anything!! The facilities are fab and spotlessly clean, the pub serves excellent food and drinks …we will definitely return!
Highly recommend can’t wait to return
Very relaxing 3 nights, albeit wet and rainy! Know the area quite well so didn't venture very far but will say an ideal base to travel around from for both families and couples, always plenty todo and see.Staff always very pleasant and helpful, food is highly recommended.
Return visitor to the site and came with my partner plus two other couples. Enjoyable stay once again. Pub is very handy! Dog friendly. Toilet and shower area nice and clean and shower nice and hot. Friendly staff. Personally like the fact that there are no kids kicking a football around which might (and has been known to) hit the van! There are local walking areas which take you to other small villages/hamlets, each equipped with a pub :-) Nice bookstore that's well worth a visit about a mile or so along the road and Buxton isn't too far away along with Tideswell or Tissington that are nice to visit.
A great, quiet campsite with clean toilet/shower block. A pub with great food. Well behaved dogs allowed. I would rate it as 5 Star.Overall it was a great place to stay over new year. A shame we were too tired after the walking we did in the beautiful countryside to stat up to let the new year in!The only downside was some irresponsible dog owner did not pick up after their dog. This was NOT the fault of the proprietors.
Brilliant site with great pub which serves great food. Great walks on your door step. What more do you need.
Site was well presented and tidy and, for the time of year quite busy. Friendly and efficient on arrival, and the pub is lovely - cosy, dog friendly and good food and drinks. Toilet and shower block was spotless and warm. Great views from the pitchOnly downsides - it’s close to a main road and the traffic noise can be quite obtrusive. Some of the pitches seemed quite close together especially for larger units - had we put up an awning there wouldn’t have been much room between us and next doorA minor gripe - we tow a small car behind our M/H but we were asked to leave it on the pub carpark even though there was plenty of room for it on our hard standing - can’t really see the distinction between us and much bigger caravan tow cars which were allowed on pitches
Site is nice and peaceful. Good location. Shower block was quite cold but showers were hot.
