As a traditional country pub and restaurant, The Duke Of York at Pomeroy also has a lovely adult-only campsite with fantastic views and hardstanding pitches with electric. The modern shower and toilet facilities benefit from underfloor heating for those colder days. Traditional homemade and locally sourced food - breakfast, coffee, lunch and evening meals - and real ales are served in our dining room and cosy dog-friendly bar. A small kiosk shop stocks everyday items with fresh supplies available to pre-order
We have an all year round adult only 30 pitch caravan site, mostly hardstanding. All pitches have their own electric hook up. There is a water point for every 2 pitches (shared).
Our shower and toilet block has been recently upgraded and in addition to the expected quality showers and toilets, we also provide a pot washing area. We also have a shower and toilet facility for disabled guests.
**Dogs – Max 2 per pitch. We request that all dogs are kept on leads at all times on site. The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act. Although we do not have a dog exercise field, we are bordered by many footpaths and close to the High Peak Trail. Dogs are welcome in the bar area of the pub.

‘Met by Bridget who showed our pitch lovely views and very good facilities, will definitely be back and the pub is a bonus had a brilliant Sunday roast.
the campsite is in good location for touring the peak district ,we had a meal in the duke of york one night and it was superb , facilities were spotless.
Site well looked after, very quiet and toilet block always clean. We had great views from our pitch which made it even better.
excellent pitches with a nice view, toilets were clean and the pub/beer was very nice. some traffic noise but nothing to worry us. due to location you need to travel by car for provisions.
The site is located at the side of the public house so easy access, and although by the busy A515, it’s not too noisy. The shower and toilets we kept clean and tidy and plenty of hot water, however, the out side of the building and the site needs to be kept clean and requires maintenance ,ie grass areas cutting, hardstanding areas clearing up and more hardcore. It was a please take stay and the food take away was a good service and 2 out of the three meals we had were very tasty.
Friendly staff, spotless facilities, well spaced out level pitches and beautiful scenery. What's not to like?
Some good views from campsite. The pub is well run and I enjoyed the food there.
Couple of nights in the motorhome - lovely surroundings and very quiet. Lots of walks nearby and well situated for Bakewell and Buxton. Food in the pub lovely and nice beer garden to sit out in. Cannot comment on the showers etc as we did not use them
We camped in the tent field & had a great weekend. Very clean facilities & well organised with entry codes on the gates & toilets. Overall a really nice site, my only negative was the constant road noise from traffic which obviously can’t be helpful but was very loud from the early hours. Nice pub though & worth staying to visit the pretty local towns & villages.
with having motor home you have to rely bus services and one a day is not enough, the site is lovely, and the taxis are to dear.
