An adult-only camping ground located on the very doorstep of the Peak District National Park. Be immersed in incredible surroundings and have a traditional pub and restaurant a few steps from your quality electric camping pitch.

As a traditional country pub and restaurant, The Duke Of York at Pomeroy also has a lovely adult-only campsite with fantastic views and hardstanding pitches with electric. The modern shower and toilet facilities benefit from underfloor heating for those colder days. Traditional homemade and locally sourced food - breakfast, coffee, lunch and evening meals - and real ales are served in our dining room and cosy dog-friendly bar. A small kiosk shop stocks everyday items with fresh supplies available to pre-order

We have an all year round adult only 30 pitch caravan site, mostly hardstanding. All pitches have their own electric hook up. There is a water point for every 2 pitches (shared).

Our shower and toilet block has been recently upgraded and in addition to the expected quality showers and toilets, we also provide a pot washing area. We also have a shower and toilet facility for disabled guests.

**Dogs – Max 2 per pitch. We request that all dogs are kept on leads at all times on site. The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act. Although we do not have a dog exercise field, we are bordered by many footpaths and close to the High Peak Trail. Dogs are welcome in the bar area of the pub.

Was not sure at first as my pipe for water would not reach, however the pub will lend you one.The reason I picked this place was the fact it said no fireworks, however no fault of the site we could hear some in the distance going off, dog barked for 5 mins and to be fair it was between 8pm -9pm and nothing after that. Can not fault the service or the food in the pub it was definitely 5stars plus, please try the Steak and ale pie it is so delicious 😋 Shower toilets excellent very clean.Walks are fabulous. All in all a great trip away and we are going back for New year (no fireworks plus the steak and ale pie)

Last minute booking

Williams, Ben - 04/11/2022

We arrived late at the site but the owner was very accommodating and welcoming. Our hard standing pitch was lovely and level and close to the clean and well maintained amenities. We arrived late and left relatively early so cannot give many more details, the pub from what we saw looked comfortable and a nice place to have a drink and a bite to eat. We felt very safe with the coded gate and were well off the main road. Beautiful surroundings. Being from Wales we are not that likely to be going back in the near future but would definitely stay again if we were to go back up there.

Fantastic little campsite in the High Peaks

Law, Ian - 31/10/2022

We enjoyed a restful weekend in the heart of the White Peaks caravaning with friends. The site is easy to find and access. The facilities are excellent, we needed access to a disabled toliet and shower for our son which was provided. The site is a small one with fabulous views across the valley. The owners provide you with a leaflet with a selection of local walks straight from the campsite. The High Peak Trail is only a 5 minute walk away. The pub itself is excellent with a good range of food which you can also order as a take away for your van if you wish. Looking forward to the next weekend we can book here.

Fantastic location, easy distance between Buxton, Matlock, Bakewell, campsite was OK, lovely views, very noisy all through the night, The Landlady was/is quite moody and abrupt and rude , It didn't bother us to much but my son and his partner didn't get on with her attitude at all .

Long weekend near Buxton

Livingstone, Thomas - 27/10/2022

Quite a nice campsite with lovely views. Toilet facilities were very good and clean. Just a little far from Buxton for me personally. Nice pub and the food was a very good standard. Main issue for us was the attitude of the Landlady. Not particularly welcoming and very controlling with regard to using the pub before meals. The impression we were given was that she was happy for you to go in for one drink before dinner. We were told we wouldn't be able to go in for drinks on the Saturday night prior to our booking time. When we went in it wasn't that busy. They forgot to bring our starters but compensated us with a free round of drinks. The waitress apologised but it would have been nice if the Landlady could have said sorry. The site may suit some people and seemed quite popular but personally it's not somewhere I would stay again.

Cosy site with great views

Walker, Colin - 25/10/2022

The site is attached to a pub, which is closed Mondays and Tuesdays. 20 odd pitches, sited fairly close together. There is a separate field for tents. Electrics and water available on all hard standings but no drainage facility. However, owners are happy for 'clean' grey water to drain onto the pitch. Toilet / shower facilities are comfortable and regularly cleaned. Pub has a dog friendly area but can fill up during busy season so always best to book if you intend to take a dog in. Food at the pub was good, and during our stay we went through most of the menu. Location is a couple of miles South of Buxton, which is the highest market town in England, so expect temperatures to be lower than average. Right next to the A515 so there is some road noise but as the speed limit it 50mph it's not too bad. Great views from the site and plenty of walks in the area. Also easy drive to places like Buxton, Bakewell, Macclesfield, Leek.
