Opened in April 1972, Craigtoun Meadows Holiday Park is set in a beautiful rural, woodland location, just 1.5 miles from the centre of St Andrews. The park has been regularly recognised as one of the country's best, and has been awarded the prestigious AA Campsite of the Year for Scotland in 1984, 1991, 2002 and 2016.
Currently rated 5 Star by VisitScotland, Craigtoun Meadows Holiday Park offers guests the choice of luxury lodges, static holiday homes, little glamping lodges, hardstanding pitches for motorhomes and touring caravans and grass pitches for tents.
While the hired caravans and the holiday lodges are equipped with modern conveniences and appliances, there is a range of facilities offered for touring guests to ensure they enjoy the highest possible level of comfort during their stay, too.
The amenities block at Craigtoun Meadows Holiday Park includes toilets, baths, showers, and a washing up area.
Around the park there is plenty for guests to do. A large children’s play area is complemented by a multi-sports court that sees plenty of fun as well as competition throughout the year.
There are two games rooms at the park, between them boasting video games, an air hockey table, table football, and two pool tables. A friendly coffee shop and restaurant is also found at the park, and is open for breakfast and dinner. Takeaway options are also provided in the early evening for guests looking to eat in their caravan, tent, or lodge.
A short drive or a nice walk takes guests into the centre of St Andrews, where they will find everything from quirky shops, tea rooms, and restaurants to museums and other cultural attractions. The town is perhaps most famous for its world class golf course, which can be seen from the roadside and even be played by golfing guests staying at the park.
Outside of the town there are miles of coastal walks and countryside trails to explore, while a number of clean and safe beaches are also worth exploring.
A scenic drive to the north takes guests across the River Tay and into the popular city of Dundee. Dundee offers a taste of modern life in Scotland for guests preferring this to the traditional style of St. Andrews and the surrounding villages. Tourists have the option of leaving the car behind and taking public transport into Dundee. The trip from St Andrews takes under an hour.
We have an awesome 18 hole crazy golf course - putters and balls can be hired from reception. In 2022 we added 3 electric vehicle charging points - you must register your vehicle in the office in order to be able to use these.

have stayed at Craigtoun Meadows Holiday Park a few times now. One of the best there is for us with our touring caravan. The site is beautiful, plenty of facilties all excellent, clean and staff are always available and monitoring these 24/7, spotless. The Hub is a great area you can use to relax dine etc. We play table tennis when there and this time we had our 18 month grandson with us and both playparks are suitable and we'll maintained for all ages of children. The location of rhe park is close enough to go to town by car bus or a 20 min easy stroll. Would def recommend. We don't have a dog and the touring area is pet free so as tou can imagine our wee toddler could roll about the grass, what more could we ask for.Pitches are large and fully serviced, plenty of space, an overall lovely relaxing area.
Site was much bigger than we expected, but quiet. It was well laid out, we were in Campervan with 2 year old grandson. Needed to move pitch due to a swarm of wasps in hedge, but that was no bother and the new pitch was even better, right next to the smaller park 👍🏼Bus stop right outside site which took us in to town and a 15 min walk to beach. Toilet, shower and bath facilities absolutely fantastic. No shop on site, which was a bit strange for us, but we had brought stuff anyhow. Didn't use the arcade. Used the bigger play park and that was fab, flying fox was out of commission, but that was maybe a good thing 😀Really enjoyed it. Would return.
Site grounds are well looked after and facilities such as the toilet block are always kept clean and in good order.Fully serviced pitch was ideal, if a little bit pricey but did seem to be a lot wider than it was deeper, just deep enough for a 6.4m motorhome.Nice walks within the caravan park but very little places to walk in the countryside outside the caravan park due to lack of pavements or tracks. For example to obvious way to walk to Craigtoun Country Park.Overall a very good site with good bus links into St Andrews, only ten minutes walk away.
Positives.Beautiful siteFriendly staffClean toilet blockNegatives. No “Arrivals” parking Very narrow roadways for manoeuvring
Stayed 19th - 21st June with family, we found the pod to be scrupulously clean and perfect for our needs. The toilet/shower block was also very clean, each toilet cubicle having it's own sink. Shower cubicles each had a changing area with bench and hooks to hang clothes. There were also baths available.Although we didn't use them there is a a super playpark for the kids, games room, library of books to borrow and a pizza van that came on the Friday night.Great site, very quiet apart from our very tired 6 year old grand-daughter. Would most certainly reccommend.
The park grounds are beautifully maintained by the hard working ground staff. We stayed in an Eden lodge which was modern and clean, everything you need for a relaxing stay in this lovely part of country. We had a couple of minor maintenance issues that were dealt with promptly by the friendly staff. A couple of comments I’d make are (1) it would be nice if the beds were made on arrival, less able customers may struggle to fit duvet covers, etc. (2) Don’t rely on the TV aerial for best reception, login to iPlayer/ITVx for streaming instead. The wifi service is excellent.
Very well kept and presented. We stayed in a little lodge, which was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom facilities were very clean and spacious. The only little thing was the door closer into the ladies loo was faulty and I could hear the door slam through the night in my accommodation. I will definitely return as I thoroughly enjoyed my visit Thank you
Stayed for 4 days in June 25 in the touring area. The staff were extremely obliging and accommodating. The toilet facilities are exceptionally and of a 5 star standard. The site is next to The Dukes Golf course definitely would be back. The static caravans and lodges are of exceptional quality
The site was easily accessed as was our caravan which was adapted for a wheelchair. Also the caravan was spotless and had all utensils required. The staff were very helpful and friendly, although we had to vacate the caravan by 10am, which was quite difficult as my daughter needs a lot of assistance as she is in a wheelchair and requires medication and help with breakfast etc. I did offer to pay extra to enable us to stay for another hour, but that was refused, so I was a bit disappointed with regards to that.I do think it would be helpful to have a shop on site, and also some entertainment. The location was perfect and so close to the town centre.Overall we enjoyed our stay at Craigtoun Meadows Holiday Park.
