Opened in April 1972, Craigtoun Meadows Holiday Park is set in a beautiful rural, woodland location, just 1.5 miles from the centre of St Andrews. The park has been regularly recognised as one of the country's best, and has been awarded the prestigious AA Campsite of the Year for Scotland in 1984, 1991, 2002 and 2016.

Currently rated 5 Star by VisitScotland, Craigtoun Meadows Holiday Park offers guests the choice of luxury lodges, static holiday homes, little glamping lodges, hardstanding pitches for motorhomes and touring caravans and grass pitches for tents.

While the hired caravans and the holiday lodges are equipped with modern conveniences and appliances, there is a range of facilities offered for touring guests to ensure they enjoy the highest possible level of comfort during their stay, too.

The amenities block at Craigtoun Meadows Holiday Park includes toilets, baths, showers, and a washing up area.

Around the park there is plenty for guests to do. A large children’s play area is complemented by a multi-sports court that sees plenty of fun as well as competition throughout the year.

There are two games rooms at the park, between them boasting video games, an air hockey table, table football, and two pool tables. A friendly coffee shop and restaurant is also found at the park, and is open for breakfast and dinner. Takeaway options are also provided in the early evening for guests looking to eat in their caravan, tent, or lodge.

A short drive or a nice walk takes guests into the centre of St Andrews, where they will find everything from quirky shops, tea rooms, and restaurants to museums and other cultural attractions. The town is perhaps most famous for its world class golf course, which can be seen from the roadside and even be played by golfing guests staying at the park.

Outside of the town there are miles of coastal walks and countryside trails to explore, while a number of clean and safe beaches are also worth exploring.

A scenic drive to the north takes guests across the River Tay and into the popular city of Dundee. Dundee offers a taste of modern life in Scotland for guests preferring this to the traditional style of St. Andrews and the surrounding villages. Tourists have the option of leaving the car behind and taking public transport into Dundee. The trip from St Andrews takes under an hour.

We have an awesome 18 hole crazy golf course - putters and balls can be hired from reception. In 2022 we added 3 electric vehicle charging points - you must register your vehicle in the office in order to be able to use these.

First impressions, it was clean and had good facilities.

McAndrew, Julie - 15/08/2026

Stayed at the touring site, the facilities were really nice, clean and the kids loved rhe park and the crazy golf area.. Did not pay for WIFI but is kind of expected when there is such a poor phone signal our teenager was a bit fed up. Would have been more comfortable with a separate fully enclosed showering area separate for men and women. The pitch we were initially given was on a slope and the towing area of the caravan would be hanging out on the road but we were offered another which was flat and longer. It was easy to get in to St Andrews and to Craigtown park, I am sure we could have walked but took the car.

This was easy to find and not far from StAndrews for shops restaurant and sightseeing. There was a little park in the touring area but the big park was excellent, although a short walk. This is next door to craigtoun country park and a great day out with lots of things to do.

Have visited on numerous occasions to what is a well kept and clean site.

Hurry, Alan - 06/08/2026

Only downside was being assigned a pitch right next to children's play area - might be wise to consider the likely preferences for a quieter space for a couple in their 60's ! Not that we dislike children - we've been there and done that - prefer the peace and quiet option where possible though 😅

Reason I marked the visit down was no dogs allowed which is the only site I have come across this rule- need to be customer friendly! Also was given a pitch 27 beside a hedge so WiFi or Satellite did not work. This is a basic service so very dissatisfied

Bowden, Gordon - 04/08/2026

3

Very poor not allowing dogs - need to be customer friendly for people going on holiday- first site I have ever come across this so definitely out of line with the market .Also was allocated pitch 27 behind a hedge and had no WiFi or satellite which is a basic requirement. Owners need to move with the times as was unable to do any work on site which was extremely frustrating!

Site lacked soul and policed by wardens

Muir, Frances - 03/08/2026

★☆☆☆☆ 1/5Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing holiday. The park itself is clean and very well maintained. The toilet and shower facilities were spotless throughout our stay and are a real credit to the cleaning staff. However, our experience with the wardens had a significant negative impact on our holiday. I am disabled and, as a result, my son-in-law needed to help set up both my caravan and awning. My daughter explained at reception that there would be two cars on the pitch temporarily while this was being done, and she was told this would not be a problem.Despite this, we were approached by the wardens on three separate occasions within around 90 minutes regarding the second car. On the third occasion, I explained that my son-in-law was helping me set everything up and would be leaving shortly. The warden replied, “Yes, but it’s the length of time it’s taking you.” My son-in-law had only recently purchased his caravan and awning and was still learning how to s
