Nice & clean site. Could do with a few seats/benches around the lakes
I was very satisfied with everything, staff, shop, lakes and general tidiness of everything. Fishing was dead, lol, but don't need to catch fish to enjoy your time there. Very happy as always at Cobbleacre as always and looking forward to my next weekend there at the end of this month.
Stayed on a fully serviced pitch for a week. Very quiet and peaceful, plenty of wildlife. Site was very clean and tidy. On the downside the toilets and showers although clean were quite a way from the pitches and used by the fisherman also. Although we have our own facilities for showering in our van when we stay for a week we like to use shower blocks a couple of times during our stay, just for the extra space. We didn't feel able to use these as the weather was cold as was the shower and toilet block. It didn't ruin our stay but it would have been nicer to have a heated, dedicated block for visitors.
Everything was great, lovely site, clean and quiet. The fishing was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful.
Nice quiet location, great showers. EHU worked great, good price.
Positives QuietShop on siteLakesEHUwaterClean.NegativesMotorhomes are put in a LONG TERM CARAVAN SITE.Sadly those vans show signs of decay. Giving the touring vans NO SCENERY TO LOOK AT, OTHER THAN UP THE BACK END if an old caravan. It's a beautuful area, n it would be lovely to view that scenery, but sadly I did not,!If the site allowed the vans a lakeside view I might come back k but being parked by the ablution shed, looking out to an old van, was NOT MY CUP OF TEA OF A NICE LAKESIDE WKND
Very easy to get to and clear instructions. Beautiful surroundings . Was "left to it" so didn't feel welcomed and for my first time out caravaning it was a little nerve wracking but was relieved to see it was a straight pitchup . Would definitely like To go and give fishing a go with my son next time
Other than the toilets and showers being abysmal, the hard standings are stone on top of earth, not a proper hard standing. The surroundings themself are lovely countryside.
We are new to caravaning, so this is our third time away, the site was close to where my daughter lives and that’s why we chose it.I would use again to be able to be close to my daughters, but would not use it as a holiday destination as we felt the site had nothing of interest for us and there was no hot water in the shower block, but still had to pay the full price. It’s nice enough if you are using it to fish,
We have a caravan stored at site, along with other family members, the staff try to accommodate us to be in a collective group and this is generally good. However, my brother-in-law and I like to fish and the fishing has been very poor indeed this past year. We are not experts but had enjoyed a good days fishing in the past, these days we catch little or nothing. It has been so poor, we have in fact joined a club and go elsewhere for our fishing while staying at Cobbleacre. The site and facilities are generally clean and well maintained, however the shower block entrance door is falling off and only two shower (ladies) are working but cannot adjust temparatures, which are generally too hot. The showers in the new building are not yet operational? Overall, we find it easy and convenient to take a break at Cobbleacre, we enjoy our time there but its not as good as it could be.
