Well it was a very warm welcome , and my van was all set up and ready for me which is a great .. the place is lovely, even though the weather wasn’t the best , the experience is great , there could be a few improvements , but they are quite minor and I’m sure they will be rectified once this review is read ... It’s the little touches that ,make a difference I was alone on my holiday and it was my birthday and Jayne came to my caravan with a card and box of chocolates ... how lovely .... they had a band on and that was a fantastic night the band was plus atmosphere , it’s a nice site and lots of people return , so that says something ..they had a charity afternoon tea day and raised over 1000 euro ... and it was great ... Personally I would have liked is a little onsight shop for milk and eggs and bits .YoU see, I had no vehicle but jayne took me to the supermarket ....so if someone to manned reception at a regular time and sold essentials etc it would be beneficiali
We have been visiting this site for about eight years. It is stuated in a rural part of France; the real France. There are many historical, some medieval, towns within easy reach. The River Thouet runs close to the campsite. The name Thouet derives from the ancient Gallic word for tranquil which describes it perfectly. You can cycle or walk along the river in either direction for miles. There are many exciting attractions for those with children within an hours drive. There is a small Tourist information office just ten minutes walk away in town. There is also a patisserie with Pain aux Raisin to die for :)The campsite owners, James and Jayne are very helpful and friendly as are everyone concerned with running the site. You might have realised that I am a bit of a fan. Try it for youself.
Site was easy to find. When we arrived reception closed but our booking was displayed on board which pitch had been allocated for us. Fortunately a camper arrived the same time with code and we followed camper in. Very pleased with hard standing pitch which was large enough for our 7m motorhome. The new shower block which was segregated women’s and men’s, contained three cubicles with toilet and washbasin each which were very clean. Only problem was the shower which wouldn’t stay on, having to hold push button with one hand whilst attempting to wash your self one handed. The older shower block was clean and fit for purpose but again, pushing the shower button resulted in an ark of water flooding everywhere but over you! All mentioned to Jams who explained hard water affecting shower fitments. We enjoyed beautiful walks with our dog in various green spaces around campsite. Campers mostly English, enjoying get togethers, boules and communal bbqs. Very friendly atmosphere.
The camping is easy to find and is very well situated, as the name implies, nearby a beautiful river. The facilities are very good and the English owners are friendly and extremely helpful. There are two toilet blocks which are cleaned regularly, a large swimming pool, bar, inside and outside dining and evening meals are cooked daily. We particularly enjoyed the excellent fish and chips and the moules frites.Airvault itself is definitely worth a visit and there is plenty of history to enjoy. Right from the camping, there are outstanding walks along the river. There is a very large Intermarché just 5 minutes drive away. Both as a destination itself and as a base for touring some lovely places, this camping is genuinely a real gem.
It was only our second stay at the campsite but both times we found friendly campsite owners who can help with everything you need. The place is clean and well looked after with all the facilities. you can imagine. The Airvault town is a picturesque place with an excellent supermarket where you will get everything you need and more. The whole area is full of places to visit so you will never be bored. I would recommend a bicycle if you can. A lot of places to go. We will come again soon.
sehr netter Empfang , der Betreiber kümmert sich um deine Belange - super . Ich würde den Campingplatz immer weiterempfehlen
Donna & I had the company of our friends down for the first time where all enjoyed our stay. The vans were set up like a proper western camp to allow us to gather and enjoy the sites views, drink eat and chat. Always great seeing James and Jayne who always welcomes us and makes our stay that much better with the food and blond beer they serve. Great facilities on camp and off camp visiting lakes and villages. Until next year, we will return xx
We have been visiting Courte Vallee for ten years now, the pool is big enough and there are sufficient facilities for the campers. Every year we find different things to visit in the area, this year we visited two car rallys, two vid grenniers, an historic oriental garden, the farmers market and the sea side for a day. Already looking forward to next year.
We have seen other reviews not quite so positive, but can't say that was or has been our experience in the past. Thank you Team CdeV for a lovely break, hope to see you again soonNeal, Sharon and Thomas
