A friendly site that has a range of holiday opportunities for all needs. Close to local attractions and places to walks around and explore.
Friendly staff on arrival. Secure site with key code needed to drive in. Good size pitch and there’s wifi! Pool was an added bonus. Site was quiet which was perfect for us. Clean toilets and hot showers also an inside pot washing area with hot water. We didn’t use the laundrette. Will definitely book again during term time.
Very clean well run camp everything very easy access for all abilities
we have stayed at Bucklegrove several times over the last few years and always found our visit very nice and chilled, the staff at reception are always cheerful and extremely helpful, hard standing pitches are a decent size, nice indoor pool (always warm!) i know that the one toilet block is being redecorated at the moment (March 24 ), I assume the other toilet block (by reception ) will be done sometime soon as that is in need of a refresh that said no issues with cleanliness at all, we look forward to our next visit and have recommended this site to several friend already!! regards,
Not a complete review as we only used it as a stopover in our way South. We arrived late afternoon and left early the next morning so didn’t use all of the facilities. Reception was quick and efficient and friendly. The surfaces of the paths/ tracks are in quite poor condition. The shower block (near the reception, the one near us was out of use), was dated but clean and warm. Overall it was comfortable and served us well, we thought it was good value for money.
We enjoyed our stay and holiday home was clean, spacious with all amenities. Staff were great and welcoming. Restaurant had good food and pool was nice and warm. The only reason I have put we wouldn't return is due to this not being our usual type of holiday. I was always put off going on these as I imagined a thousand screaming kids and a noisy family at night shouting and swearing and unfortunately that was true. The first night the noise 1 of the families were making was outrageous, was well past the alloted quiet time aswell. It woke our baby up more than twice so was not ideal. About midnight I heard another holidaymaker come out and tell them to shut up. The next night when returning from dinner I saw the police on campus and imagine it was another noise complaint about the same family and then looking out the window it was, they was talking to them and telling them they had to be inside and not make noise.
Site was small and therefore quiet, well kept although some maintenance going on whilst we were there. Our Caravan was cosy, clean and well stocked with pots and pans etc. The pool was clean and very warm, the small children's pool was like getting in a bath. Showers and changing area was a little dated and small, only really suited for 1 family at a time. Luckily we were staying directly across from the pool so didn't need to use the changing room. We didn't get a chance to use the bar/restaurant but menu looked ok and a reasonable price. Well situated for local attractions including Wookey hole and Cheddar gorge which are well worth a visit.
We stayed in the far field at the back in our motorhome and went out exploring each day. The potholes to get back to our pitch were huge and unavoidable which made our motorhome literally rock quite violently from side to side. It looked like other areas of the park had been resurfaced but they really need to sort this out for this area. Toilet block in this area was cold too. Showers were good though. Play area cordoned off due to mud. The field where we stayed was extremely muddy too, but other areas of the site looked ok. Pool table area in clubhouse needed a serious clean, very dirty. Didn't eat at the clubhouse but food looked plentiful. No entertainment on during half term. If you stay here don't stay in the back field area, stay nearer the site entrance as this looked OK. Recommend visiting the cider barn just down the road, really friendly and pool was half the price there and much nicer than the site.
We stayed in our caravan, pitch was great, the pool on site and play ground were lovely, the toilets and shower blocks were always spotless, (a unique thing about this site I haven’t experienced before is the family bathroom with a bath! We didn’t use it but was very impressed). Great site for families, no noise issues, shop is well stocked with a good range and there in a club house on site, There was also a little woodland walk with stages animals throughout it, that my kids really enjoyed.
Arrived approximately 6pm, caravan was filthy, lights were flashing like being in a rave. Tried to contact the park via reception via usual contact number and emergency number which went to voicemail several times (not great in a serious emergency). My wife cleaned most of the caravan however we had no way of dealing with all of the dog hair which reside over the carpets and upholstery. This lead to the 1 year old child being covered in hair and subsequently setting off his eczema. Boiler is either on or off leaving the heat control down the the individual radiator thermostats, the one for my child's room was missing / broken. Leaving hard work trying to keep the room from boiling or freezing.( winter stay).Spoke to someone the next morning in the reception, 0 f*ck were given however so,eone did pop in with a hover later that day which was helpful! Definitely not worth £90 a night! Would not recommend.
