Nice setting, some bit could do with update if your a glamper, and no electric second day.

Not a bad site, the setting is great, nice and peaceful. The toilets could do with a spruce up if you’re fussy about that sort of thing but in general they were clean and tidy and hot showers, fine for us.We had no electric on the second night which was a bit disappointing as we only had electric heating in the van. I text the warden at 1am as couldn’t ring as I had 3 kids in the van. Again at 2:30 and rang at 5:45 to which he answered and it sounded as if the fault was a regular thing tripping the pitches at the waterfront. However it wasn’t until 8:40 until I had electric and heating to my van. As we only stayed for two nights to try out our new caravan it was a little disappointing.Other than that it’s a good site not far from home.

Very disappointed

Lawrance, Stephen - 26/10/2023

The site has a lot of people living on the site in various caravans and motorhomes - it is not really a tourist place. This was very disappointing as we used to go there a lot years ago and loved it. On our second night (and fortunately our last) a caravan turned up - and they were extremely noisy - they had two cars, one of which did not fit onto the pitch and they had to move it for us to leave - and there were 4 adults and 3 very noisy and out of control children in the one caravan. I think they were playing football in the caravan during the evening. When I booked I was told by the gentleman that I would not find a more peaceful location - absolutely not true at all.I would definitely not stay again nor would I recommend it.

Campervan trial run !

Horsfall, Ian - 14/10/2023

We overnighted at the site to try out our new campervan . The pitch was hard standing with electric hookup overlooking the lake. We enjoyed the brief stay and the walks around the lake . The bathroom and shower facilities were okay but a little tired . Staff were all friendly and helpful The duck parade was fun to watch .

Lovely and right by the lake with lots to do.

Hunt, Ian - 05/10/2023

Very lovely grounds, I hope to fish next time, The on site shop is a nice touch, If anything at all needs improvements I would say the WiFi is needing to be improved with its coverage, but that is not the end of the world. Really enjoyed our time and after messing you about with our book dates we can not thank you enough for your patience.

Amazing entrance

Whibley, Helen - 27/09/2023

We found our pitch easily & it had a lovely open aspect.Monday to Friday (we arrived on Thursday & left on Saturday) I imagine it’s very quiet, at weekends families come along & therefore it’s a different ambiance. For the peace & quiet alone I would return.

Great caravan site

Deamer, Claire - 10/09/2023

I stopped here with my granddaughter for 3 nights. I found the staff to be very friendly. The lake was fantastic to paddle in. There are lots of ducks which like to be fed, although I would take your earplugs as they can be a bit noisy at night! The onsite shop was well stocked. The only grouch I have is that the children's play area has lots of prickly weeds.Would definitely recommend and be returning.

Touring site

Jones, Sara - 07/09/2023

My husband was on business in the area so we came as a family. Having no car for the day this site is ideal for families. Plenty to keep themOccupied, lake, beach, park, pedalos, fish and duck feeding, walks and mini golf. Mine loved it. The Saturday morning sailing club was excellent. My son got to try new things and now wants to buy a kayak Toilet facilities are bit dated but fine. Think mops need to be provided in private bathrooms but no complaints. Although there was a rather large shouting match between a few permanent pitch holders.

Great weekend away

Harston, Sean - 07/09/2023

The touring site is set in a beautiful location with lots to do on site. The water sports are great for every age group. Fishing on site. We went to Bosworth battle fields , great visitors centre and a lovely walk that took us along the canal and then back up to visitors centre. Lots of lovely pubs to eat and drink at. Staff on site are very friendly and helpful. Toilets and showers are fine, could do with some smellies in there. But could not fault this site. The lodges are beautiful, so when we win the lottery we will be back. Looking forward to another visit
