Our touring campsite and glamping pods are dotted about this wonderful and secluded landscape surrounded by natural and arable land. The river ‘Nairn’ can be accessed from the site and in the Spring it’s banks are covered with thousands of bluebells.
It’s a place a world apart from the rush and clutter of the modern holiday experience, with an atmosphere that makes you forget the world outside, and just lounge, ramble, or potter about.
We're committed to giving you a genuinely individual service from first contact to your time staying with us and “contribute to making happy memories every day”.
On Site is an ancient archaeological monument. This monument is locally known as 'Hangman's Cairn' and is an excellent example of a well-preserved Bronze Age Barrow and contemporary surrounding bank. The monument comprises a sub-circular mound, measuring around 25 m in diameter and standing to a height of around 3.3 m.
Our large 12m x 7m hard-standing touring pitches are arranged sympathetically around the Site to allow for different views wherever you pitch up. All these pitches have electricity, and a water tap is shared between two pitches. One hard-standing pitch situated near the toilet block is a dedicated disabled pitch.
The grass pitches are there for the smaller vehicles - roof tents, campervans, small motor homes and very small tents and are located overlooking the nature park and pond. A number of these pitches have electricity. Water taps are shared amongst the grass pitches. For non electric tent pitches you will be shown to a suitable spot.
One of our recent additions to the site is a dedicated ‘Nearly wild camping’ area. Situated slightly away from the other campers, sheltered behind a large hill offering a more relaxed feel for 4x4 vehicles and the likes while still being able to access toilet facilities if required.
Existing Electric grass tent bookings will be on a 10 m x 4 m pitch. It is the clients responsibility to ensure their tent, guy lines and awning fit in this space.
The campsite features 2 Glamping Pods. Sitting outside the pods, facing southwards you look out over the farmland and have direct views to the ancient monument on the site. Each insulated and heated pod sleeps up to two people. There is a small kitchen unit with a sink, a kettle and a toaster. Toilet and shower facilities are close by. All Pods are strictly pet free. No exceptions.
Accessible through a gate from the campground, you and your four-legged friend can take a stroll through the nature park. Walk around the pond and sit and enjoy the views. Dogs are welcome to walk off the lead in this nature park, but we ask the owners to look after their four-legged friends at all times. It goes without saying to please clean up after your dog.
In the pond there are gold fish and many frogs. Fishing this pond is not allowed however feel free to enjoy a refreshing swim.
Our Glamping Pods face southwards looking over the farmland and sleep up to two adults (and one infant but you will need to bring your own travel cot)
There is a small kitchen unit with a sink, kettle and toaster. Cowder and Nairn Pod comes with a bed and mattress, full bedding available to rent at £12 per stay. (Contact the campsite in regards to bedding rental) Toilet and shower facilities are close by.

Lovely clean site, with very good facilities. Views are wonderful. Even a pond for swimming in, well maintained site. Great Walks. Close to Inverness and Nairn. Very friendly staff, and very helpful. Wee shop is good. We even had superb entertainment on the Saturday night. Someone had a birthday party in the bothy, which all were invited to, It was absolutely brilliant. Can highly recommend this site One of the best we have stayed at.
We really enjoyed our stay again. Great facilities, brilliant for the dogs. Staff are friendly. Bonus this time as weather was amazing. Looking forward to next year.
Beautiful and peaceful. I was able to park my van right next to some friendly highland cows and watch them munch the broome. Showers are lovely and warm which is very important to me! I would definitely stay again if I was in the area. Thank you very much.
Lovely little find. Well kept and great shower and toilet facilities. Would return and recommend
Toilet facilities were spotless. The site is situated in open country side with lovely views and is kept very tidy.A good position for exploring that part of the coast and Inverness.Nairn is quite close for shopping and eating out.My only downside would be the pitches although they were mostly all serviced pitches, for some of them you needed a long hose or waste pipe. Not been for that I would have rated it five stars
the warden was a very nice man very helpful and easy to communicate with the only problem was the one way road round the site meeting car going the wrong direction you NEED BIGGER signs and put them in a more visible place at the moment you can hardly see the ONE sign
I had visited Nairn many years ago so was keen to see what the campsite was like (I had stayed at the caravan park previously). I can say it truly was excellent. From the warm welcome at the reception to the cleanliness of the facilities, I can’t fault it. I’d have no hesitation returning. Nairn itself hasn’t changed very much, but I was there to take part in a cycling event so was into Moray and Aberdeenshire too. The whole area was great to cycle in, and the people very friendly. I’m definitely planning a return to the area.
Easy place to find, the directions were excellent, check in was perfect we had received an e mail with all the information we needed. The facilities were excellent and everything was well maintained and cleaned. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Great peaceful location, close to Cawdor Castle which was well worth visiting and also a short drive to Nairn beach. We were in a tent and found that we had lots of space to pitch , we would have preferred if an electric hookup was available to tents however we managed as we were only staying for 3 nights.
We visited with our dogs during the Easter break for 10 days and had a wonderful time. The campsite was immaculate, including the shower block, toilets and laundry room. The general site was really impressive too with works taking place during the day to ensure the appearance was up to standard. Gary the site manager was really lovely, very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be booking a stay again in the future.
Beautiful place very friendly, facilities were well kept and clean all in all very good places to stay.
