Barleylands in Billericay is owned by the Philpot family who started farming in 1937 on Potton Island, with just 10 acres of arable land. Today, after three generations of Philpot farmers, careful strategic planning, land management and business diversification, the Philpot family now farms a total of 12,800 acres in Essex and Suffolk and owns one of South East England’s most popular educational farming and craft centre attractions – Barleylands.

Our campsite offers a number of pitches located along the River Crouch and further down to our main field. We have grass and hard standing pitches that accept electric hook-up. Toilet and shower blocks are located at various points around the area, as well as electric and water points (additional facilities for disabled guests within 250m).

The Barleylands Farm Shop is just a short drive away from the campsite and is open 7 days per week. Bulk bookings are welcome for group meets, as well as one off pitches. Dogs are very welcome on site but must be kept on a lead and cleaned up after. There is plenty of open space surrounding the campsite for dog walking.

There is plenty of open space surrounding the campsite for walking around the scenic countryside and the number 300 bus stop is only 50m from the campsite if you wanted to travel further afield. Also within easy walking distance (less than 300m), you will find The Village at Barleylands, which is home to a unique collection of artisan craft studios and boutiques that you are welcome to browse from 10am to 4pm, Tuesday to Sunday.

If you would like to be pampered during your stay, The Village is home to some luxury treatment rooms or enjoy the fun workshops and activities for all ages, including Pottery Painting!

There are two eateries based within The Village where you can stop for a bite to eat; Tiptree Tea Rooms (open 9-4, 7 days a week) and The Magic Mushroom Restaurant (open 12-late Weds to Sat and 12-4 Sun). If you are looking for a fun day out for all the family, you can always visit Barleylands Farm Park, which is right next door to the campsite and open 10am to 4pm every day throughout Winter and 10am to 5pm every day throughout Summer

When camping you can also take advantage of our Stay and Play offer – 2 days worth of Farm Park tickets for the price of 1! Fancy something a bit more up close and personal? We also offer a VIP Experience, perfect for individuals or small groups, and can be tailored to your preferences.

Stay at Barleylands Campsite

Ireland, Lyn - 18/04/2024

We stayed for one night only with our two grandchildren. We booked by telephone the afternoon before and the lady I spoke to was very helpful giving all the information necessary. When we arrived we found our pitch easily. The facilities were very clean. We didn’t have any contact with staff on site.We went to the crazy golf which we all enjoyed. I would recommend to friends & family and would stay again if in the area.

This is at the Barleylands Village so you can make the short walk over to all the activities or just chill around your pitch area. Very clean and secure and well run. Lynn the main booker is lovely and very helpful with your needs. All pitches are level. Ive camped here a few times and have enjoyed every visit. Happy camping, Gillian

Visiting friends in Billericay

Beck, Julie - 23/03/2024

The facilities were kept very clean and there was no down time whilst cleaning happened. Access for disabled was limited, but think the facilities in the other field may well be on the level.Good location with a variety of amenities on the door step. Bus service to Billericay was good just a pity that there was no footpath along main road as it was not far to the local pub but too dangerous to walk along the road.Could have done with more hanging hooks in all areas as if you need to visit facilities in the rain there were few places to hang things unless you carry additional hooks with you. There were mops and brushes in the main toilet areas but the addition of clothes and cleaning fluids may be useful as many campers will wipe down after themselves if there are facilities to do so.Site was quiet and staff were friendly when you came upon them. The CCTV is a useful addition to security Nice to see the children on the tractor rides as they passed through.
