Barleylands in Billericay is owned by the Philpot family who started farming in 1937 on Potton Island, with just 10 acres of arable land. Today, after three generations of Philpot farmers, careful strategic planning, land management and business diversification, the Philpot family now farms a total of 12,800 acres in Essex and Suffolk and owns one of South East England’s most popular educational farming and craft centre attractions – Barleylands.
Our campsite offers a number of pitches located along the River Crouch and further down to our main field. We have grass and hard standing pitches that accept electric hook-up. Toilet and shower blocks are located at various points around the area, as well as electric and water points (additional facilities for disabled guests within 250m).
The Barleylands Farm Shop is just a short drive away from the campsite and is open 7 days per week. Bulk bookings are welcome for group meets, as well as one off pitches. Dogs are very welcome on site but must be kept on a lead and cleaned up after. There is plenty of open space surrounding the campsite for dog walking.
There is plenty of open space surrounding the campsite for walking around the scenic countryside and the number 300 bus stop is only 50m from the campsite if you wanted to travel further afield. Also within easy walking distance (less than 300m), you will find The Village at Barleylands, which is home to a unique collection of artisan craft studios and boutiques that you are welcome to browse from 10am to 4pm, Tuesday to Sunday.
If you would like to be pampered during your stay, The Village is home to some luxury treatment rooms or enjoy the fun workshops and activities for all ages, including Pottery Painting!
There are two eateries based within The Village where you can stop for a bite to eat; Tiptree Tea Rooms (open 9-4, 7 days a week) and The Magic Mushroom Restaurant (open 12-late Weds to Sat and 12-4 Sun). If you are looking for a fun day out for all the family, you can always visit Barleylands Farm Park, which is right next door to the campsite and open 10am to 4pm every day throughout Winter and 10am to 5pm every day throughout Summer
When camping you can also take advantage of our Stay and Play offer – 2 days worth of Farm Park tickets for the price of 1! Fancy something a bit more up close and personal? We also offer a VIP Experience, perfect for individuals or small groups, and can be tailored to your preferences.

Family Friendly , Great Security without seeing the presence of it. Loads of wholesome family venues including Adventure parks, football, crafts including Pottery, Glass making, warhammer style games and a fantastic restaurant
No issues, nice simple pitch, just perfect for my one night stay in a tent.
Easy to find, easy to pull in and connect up. Good level pitch. Quiet at night. Good facilities and plenty of hot water for washing up.All went very well.
It’s very good value for money and very good facilities. Beautiful area surrounding Barleylands. I love visiting the Langdon Hills when I have stayed.
I travel between Basildon and Shoeburyness teaching yoga, evening classes finishing about 8-ish, honestly not really in the mood to drive all the way back to Shoeburyness. And due to my cats health condition she needs to visit the vet in Billericay every month. So I make use of my campervan, treat all these little trips as a small excursion, Barleyland provides the perfect location, scenery and facility for that. Necessary facilities are prompt, lovely flat concrete or lawn pitches, even you may see quite a fair bit of motorhomes parking around, everyone is very peaceful and nice. It is also very close to town, the convenience is a plus. How do you recommended!
Barleylands is becoming our go to camping site, the open space, cleanliness and peacefulness is everything you want when you go camping. The facilities are clean and plenty of them that you never have a wait too.The near-by activities to keep little ones happy, from pitch and putt to football golf, and the farm is a great weekend getaway. We absolutely love coming to Barleylands.
Only negative comment is that the loose shingle laid on the caravan pitches makes it extremely difficult to move caravan especially as it is a heavy double axle.
We were very happy with our pitch, we had plenty of space .The toilets and showers nearer to us were the wooden block ones and my husband said that the toilet seats in mens weren't in the greatest condition but found the other ones on the site nicer so he used them. . We had a very peaceful stay
Nice clean site at very reasonable price. Good amenities and plenty to do around the area as well as on site just a shame there isn't an actual play area for children on site
We stayed in a caravan with plenty of outside space to play games. The site was very clean and tidy with hot showers clean toilets and large sinks for washing up. We visited the golf twice which was a lot of fun. Also the shops and cafe are worth a visit and made a great afternoon tea. Will definitely be back.
Thank you for your great review and glad you enjoyed your stay at Barleylands. We hope to see you back at Barleylands again soon.
