The staff in arcade were lovrly frirndly helpfull
This was out 4th time at Galloway cottages just one more to complete the set. Only recommendation would be it has a very small fridge if planning on cooking. Views are lovely and lucky enough to get the clear night skies for some star watching.
Caravan was extremely good, great views but well away from shop and the restaurant etc, had to drive everywhere. 2 of our party went swimming, there was nowhere near by to get a coffee! Nowhere to get a snack at lunch, restaurant opened at 4pm till 8pm very expensive, we were there beginning of May which they said was off peak season, still paid decent money for the accommodation, yet no facilities open other than the sports bar, very disappointing! Takeaway was good though, staff not very informative. One night we did a quiz apart from that, not much else on, we went out most days to eat.Arcade could do with upgrading though, its a shame the site is located in a lovely position, also we had quite a number of faults with the electricity, kept cutting out.Don't think would be back!
Auchenlarie Caravan Park is a great place to stay. From the moment you arrrive you have great views of the Solway Firth. The Reception staff are helful and friendly. The caravans are all to a high speck and have decking. There are several play parks around and an activity centre with swimming pool, restaurant etc.
We love it here come every year 2 or 3 times a year
Stunning views, we camped for the weekend. The facilities were clean and kept to a high standard. All staff we had the pleasure of speaking to were always very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed chilling at our tent watching all the wee rabbits running around, only down fall to that was the amount of rabbit poop on the pitches but understand cant do anything about that. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and will be back soon.
immaculately clean facilities and swimming pool with sauna was fab.Well stocked onside bar and such friendly and attentive staff.the bunnies everywhere made it extra special but the rooks and crows not so as immensely noisy hahahaThe small beach was sublime and the views great. The town of Castle Douglas let it down as so run down and not as expected after Google but that was the only thing.
Beautiful clean caravan and Beautiful views was not a welcome pack in caravan would have been easier for us for opening times and kids pack etc but apart from that would definitely come back
Park was nice and clean. Plenty of facilities etc. only thing that we didn’t like was having to book a table at restaurant. That said the takeaway was good
We have been coming to Auchenlarie for many years and its generally always well maintained, the pitches are excellent. The toilets in the Purple area (P24HS) are dated. I remember them brand new and they were luxury. Now, the toilet seats are falling off, the boiler stopped working during our stay, the cubicles are grubby. Its a shame because a toilet block makes a campsite in my opinion. I stayed over may bank holiday and by sunday the bins are full. Maybe more bins to be able to cope over a fully booked campsite bank Holiday. The reception team allowed me to check in early which was very kind and a life saver for me so I really appreciated that and the dog walk around the forest is ideal. There are many great features of this park, unfortunately the toilet block let it down this trip.
