Akebar Park has been run by the same family for over 50 years and is a family-friendly touring site, ideal for touring caravans and motorhomes, with plenty of space for children to enjoy and with outstanding views over the open countryside.

Akebar Park's touring site is a great space for your family holiday, offering grass pitches with electric hook-up, along with a well-equipped children’s play area. The touring field has toilets and showers, washing up areas and chemical waste disposal facilities. We have an onsite shop with basic supplies, and larger supermarkets are located within just a 10-minute drive from Akebar. What’s more, our staff are always on hand to help you have an amazing time – so it’s really no wonder that we’re considered one of the best holiday parks in Yorkshire!

We are an award-winning park and have been awarded the David Bellamy Conservation Gold Award by the British Holiday & Home Parks Association. The award shows that as a park we have taken steps to manage our land as a haven for wildlife; reduce our use of energy and water; reduce, reuse and recycle the waste we produce and support our local community. We have also featured in the Top 100 Sites in recent years.

All customers must report to reception on arrival, where we will be happy to check you in and let you know where your pitch is. Our wardens will be on hand to guide you and help you settle in. Our guests always enjoy their stay here, as we’re an ideal base for walking, cycling and fishing.

The accomodation was lovely and clean. It had the best equipped kitchen for utensils, plates , cleaning equipment for any accommodation that we have stayed in. The secure decking was perfect for our dog (and us) to sit out, without needing to worry.The site was very clean and quiet even though there was development work going on.Can't comment on the golf course as we don't play, but it seemed very popular. The dog exercise area was great as it's secure and clean... no dog poopThe staff were all very friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble.The onsite pub had a good choice for food and drink and has a good atmosphere. A lot of work has been done outdoors recently. Everything felt new. It was lovely to sit out in the sunny weather.It was perfect for a long weekend break. Great value. We will definitely be back.

Overall great stay beds could be better they are very soft which does cause issues and more dog bins would be brilliant especially if they were closer to the road and not in the mud that you have to walk over so when it rains it is very muddy and you get full of mud also arrived slightly early to find caravan was not ready so maybe a staggered entry times would be a good way to combat the throng of cars at 4pm

Great little park, facilities are good and you clearly care about the park and are making improvements which will be fantastic once done. The caravan/lodge we stayed in was great facing the dog exercise park however the only let down for us was the mattresses. They were the most uncomfortable beds so much so 2 of us slept on the sofa for 2 nights.We would 100% return if the mattresses were upgraded as everything else was great

We recently stayed at Akebar Park and had one of the best family holidays we've had. Our caravan looked brand new so was squeaky clean and the interior was stunning (probably one of the best caravans I've stayed in!). I have two boys, one who is autistic and there were two good sizes parks with loads of space for him to run around safely. They both loved having the decking at the front of the caravan and spent most mornings and afternoons out there. One of the parks looks as if it's just been built with loads of different types of a play equipment for different ages, the other is older and my only negative for that one is it there were a fair few nettles and prickly things that could do with removing. We ate one night at the onsite restaurant which was lovely. It's a short drive from forbidden corner which my boys absolutely loved, we travelled a bit further to stump cross caverns which was incredible. Overall we loved our holiday and will be back, wish we could afford to buy one!

A Perfect April Getaway in the Akebar Park

We just got back from a break at the park, and honestly, it couldn't have been smoother. Even before we arrived, we knew we were in good hands, the staff actually gave us a ring on the morning of our check-in just to walk us through the arrangements. It was such a thoughtful, friendly gesture that really took the stress out of the travel day. The caravan itself (the Swaledale - 2 Bed Luxury) was spot on. Walking in, the first thing you notice is how fresh and modern everything feels. It’s clearly been fitted out recently; the kitchen was a total win with a proper hob and even an air fryer, which made quick meals a breeze. The layout was great for relaxing, too. Having TVs in both the bedrooms and the living area meant no one was fighting over what to watch, and the beds and towels were crisp and spotless. The shower and toilets felt more like a high-end hotel than a caravan.Huge thanks to the polite and professional team there, you made our stay feel special!

A lovely clean caravan that had everything we needed for a great holiday. A good location, there are lots of things to do in this beautiful area close to the caravan and lots more 1-2 hrs drive away. Staff were friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome. There's a nice little walk to finghall from the caravan site where you will find a lovely pub to eat at. There is also a cake shed outside the pub with a good choice of bakes to choose from you help yourself and post the money in the box ( there's a leaflet with a route at reception) photos below are from this walk.

Had a lovely four day break end of march.. we stayed in the coveradale (pet) the park was very clean and the lodge was beautiful and very comfortable.. lovely pub/restaurant onsite would definitely recommend.. although some work going on it really didn't interfere with our stay..a very friendly and enjoyable stay..

Thids is our 6th time to Akebar and we love it so much that we bought a Caravan with Henry , He is a breath of fresh air as is Harry to the company, 2 Lovely Gents, Happy Hols for us and our 2 Puppies
