What a beautiful setting.

Parry, Gaynor - 11/07/2025

5

Idyllic setting by the old 12th century abby. Great bistro. Great for hook ups and without. We went without hook up and it was no problem due to bistro and easy access to llangollen. Back road walk through farm takes to to path on the canal taking to to pavillion and llangollen. Beautiful walk. Staff very helpful. Toilets and showers aplenty. Our eldest considering clamping pods. It's a treasure.

Nice site but not young kid friendly way too noisey

Halpin-Jones, Rebecca - 10/07/2025

The noise and mess from the other bell tents went past 1:30 the noise most nights. Wardens would come and comment on mess leave drive off. Noise just ignored. Wkd cans everywhere teens up all night, not the relaxing weekend hoped to take my 5 year old too. Not everyone has teens. I spent my childhood here its not the peaceful retreat I hoped for my daughter to experience.

Haphazard Pitches but Kind of Worked Out

Moss, Collin - 10/07/2025

So, mixed feelings on this one. Great spot for visiting the Pavilion and events but the haphazard allowable pitches policy made it difficult. Especially when others broke the 3m distance rule and we had to move away so we weren’t amidst a loud cackling crowd of van people. OK the site cannot be responsible for people’s actions, but this didn’t seem to be policed or managed. In addition people parking cars and multiple cars around tents and vans. Such a shame. The shower facilities were small and not at all good which was quite impacting.A vast area of the general camping area was sloping. But, we found a space in the end.On a positive side there seemed to be a lot of visible site workers, just not policing the rules.I’d come again for location but would not use the facilities.CM

Apprehensive stop over

Talbot, Graham - 10/07/2025

Having booked for one night stay over we then researched the reviews. The majority were terrible. We agreed that the toilet / shower facilities require urgent attention and regular cleaning. In fairness, we were expecting a noisy evening / night as tents with large groups were nearby but it rained in the night so it was fine. It could be a lovely site if it were managed strictly

Ok campsite

Yusah, Kalsum - 10/07/2025

The location is exceptional, with an impressive ruin as a background. But the level of noise from the campers was not controlled. The first night we were there, some people were shrieking and being super loud late into the night, past 1am. None of the wardens came to warn anyone to keep the noise down. It was packed as well with campers. I'm not sure whether they have a limit on how many tents are allowed to be pitched per night. We were on a slope because there wasn't anywhere else to go. Other amenities were good. They also have milk vending machine which is cool.
