Park Description

We provide camping at two locations around the farmhouse hub facilities; a Certified Location Caravan & Camping Club site with hard standing for five units accessed through the Yorkshire Dales National Park Car Park, meadowland tent pitches for tents and trailers by the river and Dales Way footpath behind the farmhouse, and two comfortable camping pods.

The National Trust bought Heber Farm in 1994 to help preserve it as the last working farm in the village.

Tenanted by us since then, the farm keeps us busy with 600 sheep, plus cattle including a developing herd of Belted Galloways. As hill farming becomes less able to survive commercially in today’s economy the new herd provides a more viable breed, naturally equipped to live outdoors without the costs associated with indoor accommodation and feeding.

Garry is on the steering group for the Yorkshire Dales National Park looking at ‘higher nature farming’ practices as a means to long term sustainable farming methods that benefit the environment.

"Great campsite"

Anonymous - Stayed with family, Aug 2018

A lovely small campsite in a beautiful location. Very peaceful. Very good facilities although only a couple of showers. We did not have a problem but I could imagine some queuing at busy times. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Gill was very helpful.

"Sunny Buckden weekend"

D Cocker - Stayed with partner, Aug 2018

We love the site and its location. Small and quiet with good views of the fells suits us. It would be great to have a toilet a bit nearer but we cope. Ideal location for walking.

I decided (my wife decided) it was a great opportunity to enjoy some male bonding with our 17 & 13 year old lads. I had spent time at the buck inn with my late father and was the perfect location for us to celebrate Yorkshire Day! We, sorry I, brought the wrong gas bottle for the stove but the owners were so helpful and didn’t see us short. Great people, great location. I miss Yorkshire 😔

This was a perfect introduction to camping small friendly very clean .(if others leave it as they find it after staff have cleaned it which most did!) and beautiful walks right outside Things against could be for some people less than energetic or disadvantaged would be the wheel barrows and the distance to carry your tent and possessions to some pitches .A thought also would be at least another shower facility but in all a lovely stay that I’d have no hesitation in going back to.
