Park Description

Woodland tipi and yurt holidays are a small family run campsite who offer guests a unique camping experience… full of rustic luxury in a peaceful and magical setting in 17 acres of mixed woodland. A place where the children can experience the freedom of the woodland setting and the adults can relax and absorb natures beauty. By taking the hassle out of the normal camping, you will find everything set up and ready for you. Just bring your bedding and a torch, food and tea towel! All the tents are spaced with their own private area, their own fire-pit, hammock and picnic table.

Simple down to earth pleasures are many… Bake home made pizza in the Earth Oven… Make a cool den in the Ancient Wood, make a bow and arrow from the wood you find, cook on an open fire, explore woodland tracks and sample the local produce from Carey Organics! Star gazing, bird and animal spotting, climbing trees, paddling and picnicking on the banks of the River Wye, walking the many public footpaths.

Woodland tipi and yurt holidays provide first rate facilities; fantastic showers, fully equipped kitchen, under canvas eating area, a safe magical environment for all ages of children and all those special touches that make your stay a memorable one.

It struck the perfect balance of comfort without losing the fun and ‘roughing it’ element of camping. Loved the ambience of early evening as all of the solar lights would come on - perfectly placed in a woodland. Thank you for the awesome stay and warm welcome you provided us. We’ll defiantly be back for another visit in the near future 🤗

Fantastic few nights here and we were lucky with the weather (mostly dry and cooler after the weeks of heatwave). If you like the idea of having a break and like the idea of getting down to basics then this is a holiday for you. We learnt how to fire build and cook in the embers using the complementary provided wood (although there is a very well equipped kitchen too) The yurts are stunning (you may have to evict the odd spider). They are very cosy indeed and the main bed offers an extremely comfortable sleep. Wear earplugs if you think the dawn pigeons might disturb you. For an additional £30 ask Mark to fire up the hot tub. It stays hot for hours. Bizarrely, another family was there with school and town links with me and were taught by my mum!! Small world.

"holiday overview and reason for 'very dissatisfied' about the security."

The pizza oven, cooking on the campfire and sleeping in a tee pee were real highlights for me. The children loved the swings, hammocks and foraging for firewood. It felt natural to walk to the local villages rather than take the car and the pace of life just slowed. We didn't look at watches and ate when we were hungry. It was lovely. The reason for putting 'dissatisfied' for security was because whilst we were there, we noticed a couple walking round, looking in cupboards and our allocated fridges in the kitchen, and opening and looking inside the yurts and tee pees we were staying in. Feeling alarmed, as we had personal stuff in the tents and kitchen, we approached them and asked what they were doing. They told us they were planning a wedding and that the Julia had said it was ok for them to look inside the yurts and tee pees. This was not acceptable in my opinion. They were not accompanied by anyone- nor were we informed by anyone from the site that there would be people wandering round. The couple made no attempt to ask us if we minded them having a peek inside our tents despite us being in close proximity outside. This was a blatant disregard to our privacy and did spoil our enjoyment as we then felt we had to be 'on guard' protecting our personal possessions. They would not - had it been a hotel - had gone wandering round our hotel rooms. We paid over £400 each for this 3 night stay. Whilst I appreciate it is peak holiday time, it is still a lot of money. I did find this lapse in security disappointing.

The yurts and tipis were excellent, and the facilities -- cooking, washing, etc -- were very good. The woodland area provided a very attractive setting, and also a good 'playground' for the children. The staff were helpful and friendly. No problems, and erveryone had a very good weekend.

For me the only improvement to suggest would be cupboards in the communal kitchen to keep the dishes etc covered for hygiene reasons- lots of flies around. We just washed everything before we used anything . Otherwise it was great!

Lovely place, really clean, friendly...although wasn’t told about £30 excess hot tub charge, and then couldn’t use it as was too hot. Had requested linen, at 10pm we realised there wasn’t any in the yurt so called for assistance, received a double bed linen set and one sheet for four people staying, having paid £20 linen charge, by this time we just wanted to go to sleep!!
