Tregroes Caravan, Camping & Glamping Park

43 Reviews

Park Description

Tregroes Touring And Camping Site is a small, family friendly site, situated in the tranquil Pembrokeshire countryrside just outside the coastal town of Fishguard and close to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path.

Our site caters for tents, touring caravans and motorhomes with roughly 30 pitches available and basic facilities which include toilets, showers, a washing up area, charging facilities and a chemical disposal point. Guests are welcome to light up the barbie after a long days sight seeing, however if you fancy a night off, Fishguard has a wide variety of eateries to satisfy hungry tummies and is only a 20 minute walk away.

Dogs are more than welcome here at Tregroes and are sure to love the bountiful walking opportunities that surround the campsite including the 186 mile stretch of the coastal path, where guests are advised to keep their eyes open for the dolphins, seals and seabirds which can be seen along the way. Cycling, hiking, fishing, horse riding and golfing are all available in the nearby areas too as well as a variety of water sports activities including surfing, sailing, kayaking and diving!

If you're a history fan, you've definitely come to the right place! There are an abundance of beautiful historic sites and castles in this part of Wales including the 12th century abbey in the coastal town of St Dogmaels and the Pen-Rhiw burial chambers at Goodwick. The Garn Wen burial chamber in Fishguard, the cathedral at St Davids and the stone circles of the Preseli Hills are also well worth a look!

Here at Tregroes Touring and Camping Site, we also offer glamping for those who fancy a more luxurious camping experience.

Great weekend even though weather was changeable. The yurt was great having zero experience of them. All the things you try and remember to bring camping (50ps for shower, loo roll etc) aren't required as they are all supplied - even tea and coffee which makes life really easy. Good facilities and really friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast at Mannings and dinner in Peppers (both Fishguard) and trips to St Davids, Porthgain and Abereiddy with fish and Chips from Somethings Cooking, Letterston, of course. And a trip to Newgale for a great beach.

Considering the inclement weather experienced, the stay at Tregroes was as pleasant as it could be. In respect of the facilities, the showers were some of the largest we have experienced, providing almost three distinct areas in each shower. The shower it's self, a space to dry and a third area to dress. The lighting by the amenity block could be better shielded or directed to provide lighting for the area but reduce the light spill which was intrusive on the pitch we were occupying. The grass areas were well maintained and the landscaping showed the amount of effort being put in. The on site dog walk barely adequate - but nice touches to place supplies of poo bags at various points around the site. The lack of safe walks directly off the site was a little bit of a disappointment. Overall we were satisfied, but would question using the site at peak times as we feel facilities might struggle to cope and the site would feel crowded.

"Yurt"

Stayed in a yurt for the week. Very happy with the yurt and the facilities. Nice touches such as washing up liquid, marshmallows (for the fire) etc provided. Only thing missing was a washing line for beach towels etc. Have already recommended to friends 😀

"Observations on our visit"

Anonymous - Stayed with friends, Aug 2019

Good site, would return if in area, which is itself a wonderful place to visit. Well sited pitches with good electric and water supply there. The facilities are good, but why aren't locks on shower and toilet cubicles repaired!! And more shelf space around basins.

Site is well maintained and looks nice. View from yurt kitchen area was fantastic looking out across the fields over to Fishguard. Surrounding area is great. We had a great stay and would most definitely stay again in the future

Having stayed at Tregroes over many years, even before current owners took over, I have to say it’s improving year on year. Colin & Sam are working tirelessly to improve the site & it’s facilities & its almost unrecognisable now, to what it was before they took over two years ago. We’ve even got music in the toilets & showers now.! Only thing I would say is the showers themselves could be a little bit better, more power shower type of thing...but I’m sure that’s already in their plans somewhere along the lines. Lovely friendly, relaxing & welcoming campsite. Will see you again next year...as usual..!!
