Castle Cary Holiday Park

100 Reviews

Park Description

For that quiet and relaxing holiday in the heart of romantic Galloway. Castle Cary has much to offer, and constantly adds to and improves its facilities year after year. We can now offer a range of seasonal timber clad lodges and winterised all season holiday homes.

At the centre of our holiday park lies an old Scottish baronial-style castle dating from around 1580. The Laird’s Inn, converted from part of the old castle, is most welcoming with it’s ‘olde worlde’ charm, created by a décor of wooden beams, stone walls and open fires.

On a sunny day you can sit, drink, eat and relax on its large terrace, enjoying magnificent panoramic views over fields, woodlands and the estuary of the river Cree.

A comprehensive range of facilities and activities awaits you on site. We have normal hard-standing pitches with electricity and water connections for tourers or Super Deluxe touring pitches with drainage, TV aerial connection, dyke or fence and hedge separation.

We have a range of 2 and 3 rental accommodation available for nightly stays (3 night minimum stay). Some of our units are pet friendly.

Opening Dates

Open all year.

On arrival the reception is absolutely stunning. The campsite it self is lovely and tidy but the showers and toilets are disgusting. I appreciate that people can go in late at night but heavens sake clean up sfter yourself. Showers were mouldy and not very warm.... On arrival the reception is absolutely stunning. The swimming pool was closed What let the park down was the woeful state of the washing facilities, the showers in particular. They were mouldy and in desperate need of renewal.

"Weekend in September"

The park is lovely as are the staff the only thing that let it down was the showers they were all mouldy and generally in dis repair and always cold. The toilets were a lot better maintained. The rest of the park was beautiful.

The site was quiet but there was lots of standing water due to recent weather. Pub on site was closed, no opening times on door, maybe closed out of season? A group of youths spent the evening outside the toilets, didn’t cause a problem other than intimidating to users. The toilets were very dated, showers extremely cool, not a pleasant experience. In the morning extremely soiled with grass all over, maybe youths from evening? Won’t be returning.
