For that quiet and relaxing holiday in the heart of romantic Galloway. Castle Cary has much to offer, and constantly adds to and improves its facilities year after year. We can now offer a range of seasonal timber clad lodges and winterised all season holiday homes.
At the centre of our holiday park lies an old Scottish baronial-style castle dating from around 1580. The Laird’s Inn, converted from part of the old castle, is most welcoming with it’s ‘olde worlde’ charm, created by a décor of wooden beams, stone walls and open fires.
On a sunny day you can sit, drink, eat and relax on its large terrace, enjoying magnificent panoramic views over fields, woodlands and the estuary of the river Cree.
A comprehensive range of facilities and activities awaits you on site. We have normal hard-standing pitches with electricity and water connections for tourers or Super Deluxe touring pitches with drainage, TV aerial connection, dyke or fence and hedge separation.
We have a range of 2 and 3 rental accommodation available for nightly stays (3 night minimum stay). Some of our units are pet friendly.
Open all year.
For Touring and Camping Bookings we require a deposit of 25% to secure your booking with balance payable 4 weeks prior to arrival. For our Rental Accommodation, A £50 deposit is required per week stay with balance payable 4 weeks prior to arrival.

Without covid restrictions it would be a great site for all ages but the toilet facilities need a little TLC that done it is a perfect site

Kids enjoyed the park, donkey corner and seeing the geese and all the bunnies. Enjoyed the pool to ourselves after booking it, good selection of inflatables. Food at the pub was nice and it was a cosy atmosphere with an open fire. Order in advance if you want to order a vegetarian roast. Had all the facilities we would have needed including extras such as washing machines and family shower rooms. Had to go to Newton Stewart for essentials but only a short drive away.

Initial impression was good but as this was during the Covid outbreak found the hygiene regime somewhat lacking. The Covid signs whilst on display were not adhered to and the signs limiting numbers had obviously got wet and were unreadable. The toilet facilities were only cleaned once a day as were the showers and all looked dated with broken seats etc. The games room whist great for my children had several machines out of use and most families wore no masks and didn’t complete the Covid register. The three nights we were there, we were the only ones to complete it. I didn’t feel safe at all.

Enjoyed our stay and liked the spacious pitches. cannot comment on other facilities as closed due to covid. Pool and Lairds Inn looked good.

Really enjoyed our stay but had to leave a day early as gas had run out and site had no replacement gas cylinder so bit of a shame. I know its the end of the season but replacing gas should have been a priority

The good things were let down by grubbiness of the facilities. More so in this Covid time cleanliness and hygiene must be a priority.

Toilets/showers could do with updating but water lovely and warm. Nice to have a plug point in the block too for drying hair.
