Every single member of staff we encountered during our stay were friendly, courteous and polite. Caravan was small but perfectly formed. We had a couple of issues but they were swiftly dealt with. Facilities were great. Restaraunt however fell below expectations. I'm unsure if this was due to it being right at the end of the season or if this was a true reflection of it. Beach was beautiful. Views were stunning. Would we go back? Most definitely.

My only comment would be that the arcade has machines in that are well past their sell by date! Lovely clean crazy golf and even sunshine. See you next year.

We were only using the caravan as a base to go mountain biking at Kirroughtree so didn't use the children's facilities on site. The caravan and hot tub were brilliant. The caravan was really warm due to a gas fired central heating system which I wasn't expecting. We all loved the hot tub after a day out biking. I think a dirty shoe/ boot storage box outside the caravan on the decking would have been really useful plus more hooks in the caravan to hang gear up on. Every morning we walked down to the local beaches, swam in the sea once but it's a shame there's not a footpath along the coast anywhere or along to Moss yard.

Even in october we manage to spend time on the beach in a lovely sheltered bay. The van was comforable for us 3 adults & 2 children but 6 adults would have struggled with thr seating. Beds clean & comfortable lovely shower but small toilet area. The entertainment at night for the children was ok for very small kids but a bit boring for teenagers but they enjoy the amusements. Went swimming nice pool played crazy golf great fun if a bit hilly. All in all an enjoyable holiday break at a reasonable price. The staff were friendly and most helpful. We plan to return next year.

"October Half-Term getaway!"

Auchenlarie makes wonderful base from which to explore Dumfries and Galloway. For beer and books visit the Isle of Whithorn (go to the Steam Packet Inn) and Wigtown (numerous book shops). The caravan we had was lovely and clean, all the facilities we needed. The site was in a fabulous location, we enjoyed the local walks. The swimming facilities were great however the changing rooms got rather dirty as the day wore on, they could have benefited from being cleaned mid day or a bucket and mop available for residents to utilise. I would however return here as we had a great weekend.
