"Lovely Area"

The park, ease of access to beach the kids facilities and sizes of pitches where excellent. The National Trust places nearby are fantastic. The wash facilities however would need upgrading to the same standard as the rest of the councils caravan parks and cleanliness... The young girl (curly hair) reception was so pleasant and helpful in explaining the layout of the camp, kids really enjoyed the pool area, the food in the cafe was excellent especially the fry just missing soda or toast - I will be back as we didn't get down to the beach. My only complaint was space for jeep therefore no privacy as our neighbours had a very large tent & a wind breaker erected also for their outside seating area- they perhaps should have booked a larger plot!

Hi, we enjoyed the children's splash pools, access to the beautiful beach, lovely cafe and surrounding area for activities. The children had a wonderful time. Pitch was small, ground muddy even though there wasn't much rain, and noise of neighbouring tent kept us awake e.g. man telling his children loudly to "f*cling shut up" at 1.30 in morning while he sat outside drinking and talking with his mates. Not getting a sleep plus having to listen to someone talk to their children like that is not my idea of pleasant camping. I realise there is a number to ring the night warden but I would prefer if the night warden was doing a few walks around the site and proactively addressing breaking of site rules rather than customers having to be the complainants. The warden obviously didn't do a walk around or if he did didn't bother addressing the issue. It's uncomfortable for campers (especially those in tents who are vulnerable to antisocial behaviour should it kick off) to have to be the instigators of complaints that could result in aggravation - especially where a substantial amount of alcohol is consumed. We left a day early as a result and would be unlikely to return for his reason - although we enjoyed the other things about the site and had it not been for this issue we would have been back. We found it a bit odd that when we came to check out a day early the staff at reception just gave us our fiver and smiled - having worked in customer service for years myself I would have expected them to ask how our stay had been to find out a bit about why we were leaving early. But perhaps the site is so well attended this kind of thing doesn't need to be investigated to consider customer service improvements. The staff also seemed a bit clueless when my husband brought a wallet he had found on the site with a substantial amount of money in it. They looked at him in a gormless manner when he went to hand it in, as if - what are we supposed to do with it? He had to explain to them to look inside it for identification and then go through their booking information to locate the owner. The staff weren't unfriendly, if a bit clueless, but this may just have been the ones we encountered on that particular day. The staff in the cafe were lovely and friendly. Thanks
