Windfarm Park

Park Description

In a rural location, Windfarm Park offers grass pitches with or without electrical hook ups for caravans, camper vans & large tents.

Drinking water points are situated throughout the Park. There is a small playground for children. We have a large modern heated shower block

with free hot showers. Additionally there are disabled/family toilets & showers with baby changing facilities & an under cover food preparation & washing up area with laundry sinks. There are also sockets for hair driers. A chemical disposal point is situated next to the waste and recycling bins. Excellent fishing is available (free for children) in the onsite lake. Bring your bikes – we are at the foot of the Wolds and it is so flat that you can cycle all day! There are many quiet back lanes to explore. Don’t forget your binoculars as sometimes the loudest noise here comes from the birds. Neighbouring farmers have provided areas of wetland habitat to encourage wading birds and wildfowl. The Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust runs many educational events during the summer, many aimed at children. They have a visitor centre at Gibraltar Point, just south of Skegness and have other nearby reserves at Snipe Dales and Freiston Foreshore. Quiet beaches (sometimes deserted) can be found 10 minutes south of Skegness at Gibraltar Point or further up the coast beyond Ingoldmells. The nearest pub is the Old Chequers Inn at Croft about 1.9 miles away.

We welcome well behaved pets. www.windfarmpark.co.uk

Everything was good with this site except their could do with cleaning the toilets and showers more often, during the time I stayed I never used the showers as was using the local gym showers, but I saw the state of them. Basins and toilets were always dirty with toilet roll all over the floors, don't know why people can't pick it up!. In the women's toilets their were never any sanitary bags to use it was always empty. Liquid soap empty. Great shame as everything else about the site was nice. It was quiet, plenty of space, friendly staff and a nice location.

"Camping"

Anonymous - Stayed with family, Aug 2019

Too few showers, lake needs bank sorting to make fishing more accessible and the island needs trimming back

Arrived there after about a 2 mile drive on a bumpy road after following the sign that said left 500m ahead. Turns out i could have turned in where the sign was and would have been straight to reception. Once locating reception which isnt really clear might i add, the woman incharge just blurted out everything in one go and then we was made to wait 35 minutes in the car park which was also a very hot 33° day before being shown where to go. Only 2 showers per men and women, and i wouldnt say the facilities where as clean as they could be. I wouldnt stay here again as i feel like they just want to make money rather than do it because they want to run a business where people enjoy the place for what it is. It is a nice area but spoilt by the few things i mentioned before. If you like fishing this would be for you, if you dont and you hate lots of flies then next to a lake is a bad idea. Might i add i am not marking the camp site down for flies just making people aware if they didnt know. Was my kids first camping which they enjoyed but more for what we did off the site as not much for a child to do on it.

"Bank holiday weekend"

Little freezer got the blocks was a nice touch. Could put one in the men’s too! From past camping trips we noticed that if there is a squeegee mop and bucket in the shower area people will use them to clear the grass and mud after each use. As this was not present this time the showers were a bit messy at times. Other than that we will definitely book again next year. Could do with a bigger sign outside the gates for guidance in.

"A few tips"

Mrs P Johnson - Stayed with friends, Aug 2019

First time campers so can't compare to other sites so this is based on first experience and maybe some of my points are just the norm...however, turning up we missed the entrance, need to keep hedge trimmed so the sign is more visable, where we were situated was fab, tents were allowed plenty of space which was good as not on top of each other, surroundings where very clean, no litter etc. Wash facilities where poor. For such a big campsite only 2 showers in the ladies wasn't enough over a Bank Holiday Weekend and for over 24hrs there wasn't any toilet roll, also there wasn't any cleaning products or equipment to clean the shower after use, need a squeegy mop or something to clean away grass, mud and cold dirty water from the shower enclosure, again I would make cleaning products available so i could clean sinks after brushing my teeth etc if cleaners don't go in everyday. Maybe thats just me as some campers seem to be a bit lacking in the hygiene department. Not sure i would visit again but thats nothing to do with facilities, as think if i went camping again it would be to a adult only site, but i did enjoy my stay.
