Nice couple of days at farm with granddaughter during half term, plenty to do to keep her entertained both on afternoon of arrival day and morning of departure. She really enjoyed the giant Easter egg hunt, which at £3.50 was good value for money, taking into account the chocolate surprise after finding all 14 eggs. Tractor ride was very interesting thanks to driver Chris. Restaurant was very busy lots of children, food was so so. Only disappointment was paying £4 for grey waste water disposal! Only used about 10 litres during all of our stay.

"Big pitches"

Miss K Goodman - Stayed with friends, Apr 2019

We stayed at sacrewell in our caravan whilst our friends camped in a tent, really like that you can be pitched together even though you have different outfits. Would definitely return again

"An organic breath of fresh air"

M Elisa - Stayed with family, Apr 2019

We have camped several times at sacrewell and this most recent stay was our favourite yet. The camp warden was very affable and efficient and he obviously wanted us to have a comfortable stay. Some offerings have improved a great deal since our last visit 18 months... We have camped several times at sacrewell and this most recent stay was our favourite yet. The camp warden was very affable and efficient and he obviously wanted us to have a comfortable stay. Some offerings have improved a great deal since our last visit 18 months ago. There is a greater range of gluten free food and soya milk although not at the playbarn strangely. When we asked about this they told us they had nothing to offer when in fact there was soya milk in the next building! Showers are ok for camp showers but could be more powerful. Can't complain. They seem to be cleaned regularly just maybe need bringing up to date. Good washing and water facilities. Good security. Interesting place with lots to offer the family. The children loved the new obstacle course outside the playbarn and played there for hours! The egg hunt returned a substantial prize which was great given some very poor offers countywide. We had a fantastic sleep here on both nights. Very quiet. Good space between pitches and loads of room for the children to roam and remain in site.

We hadn't been before and weren't sure what to expect as we just picked it as it was close to Burghley House where we were visiting Burghley Horse Trials. I'm so pleased we did... lovely flat grassed areas for pitching our tent, facilities were great, the site was spotless, the site warden was very welcoming, there were lovely walks around the farm for the dogs, and the site wasn't rammed with other campers! We shall definitely be back - a 'high five' from us!!!

This is the second year we have stopped at this site - we use it purely as a base for us to visit Burghley horse trials so can't comment on the farm attraction that is there. But for us there are toilets that are clean, separate showers, which can get busy but as we are early risers and out to the show - we've never had a problem there. Hot water is available for washing up... I've nothing about the site I can gripe about. Their online booking did prove to be a bit of an issue when I chose to settle using the bank details provided on the invoice (FYI don't do that - use the systems card payment when it prompts you!), email response seems to be a bit of a challenge too. Replying to the email I originally booked through, didn't get a response. The address I was originally given on the invoice never got a response. The email that the system gives you doesn't get a response. It was only when I got the reminder invoice that I noticed a different address and then all was well. I only mention this as I'm sure other clients may try to email back on the system address and get nowhere and may just give up! - not a reflection on the site, I would suggest that this is an issue for whoever is providing the booking service :)

"We love it here but..."

It was our 5th year here. We stay here as we attend the burghley horse trials, but we stay extra days so our children can make the most of the farm park. We stay here as we attend the burghley horse trials, but we stay extra days so our children can make the most of the farm park. The prices had gone up a fair bit since last year and we were very disappointed that the play area is no longer accessible to the camping children after hours. I do believe that access to the farm should be included in the price of the camping, not an added extra. It's really quite expensive if the price only includes a pitch in a field and access to toilets and showers. The children do really really love the farm itself though. Even after all of our visits, we were still finding new things we'd not done before :-)

This was our third year at sacrewll the site itself is beautifully kept and the staff are really lovely and friendly the was facilities are very clean ..im not a “camper” i like my home comforts but their showers are very clean and tidy and i dont mind using them. Over the 3 years the little shop on site has changed its gone too up market it used to sell little essentials which were handy now it only has “posh” bits in. There is a cafe there too again nice full english which you have to pre book but would be nice if they stayed open later to perhaps offer campers an evening meal! Even if it was something basic like sausage and mash or fish and chips. Another thing that has changed is last year when we stayed we got farm entry at a discounted rate but this yesr there wad no difference in price which was a shame.
