Very nice walks and views in the surrounding area. Staff are very nice and helpful. Restaurant on site is good but can be busy at peak times as popular with cyclists, etc. Yurts are comfortable and well appointed with kettle, crockery and wood burning stoves (the double beds could maybe be a bit longer). Campsite toilets got a bit overwhelmed on the Sunday - possibly due to passing walkers using them as the door is easily left open - a stronger spring may fix this. However, when reported the staff were helpful and problem was fixed immediately.

"Lovely small campsite, usually peaceful but hectic on Bank holiday weekend!"

Mrs H Ward - Stayed with family, May 2018

Usually very peaceful and only a few campers but last weekend was bank holiday weekend and it was full. Lots of kids running about and noise and music until late on a night. Superb weather, great views. Cafe open but restaurant only open three nights a week. Expensive for 3 cream/jam scones and three pints of soft drink for £17.50 Lovely food and Sunday lunch was delicious. Kids loved the gift shop. No other playground or activities for the kids other than exploring the woods and frogspawn in the small pond. My favourite place to camp and enjoy the views and walks. Also on the Cleveland Way so plenty of walkers passing through

Paid extra for bedding as wanted it to be an easy hassle free stay for me and my 11 year old daughter. No bedding, had to chase - not a huge problem, but could have been annoying. As staff so wonderful it’s easy not to worry, but these pods are £60 a night off season, so not cheap by any standards. Was given logs that had been left from another pod so meant I didn’t have to pay for logs for fire, and was shown how to work the fire’! Fantastic staff and felt really at home. Not sure I felt was value for money at price paid, but would definitely go back, so not sure what that means really! Amazing food in restaurant.

Log fire made it very cosy and having a sink and electric sockets was very convenient and ideal for charging phones and tablets. Only negative is that the cafe/restaurant does not allow dogs inside and so could not have a meal inside which was a shame as the menu look fab. We did sit outside and have a drink and cake which was very nice although a bit cold due to the weather being very cold. But overall would def stay again and the views and location are amazing.

Me and my now fiancé (I proposed during a morning walk at Falconers chair) and our dog had a lovely stay in the mega pod. The only complaint we have is that we both slept badly on both nights due to the extremely bad quality mattress. These really do need improving as a good nights sleep is needed wherever you stay. A few of the bushes/trees could do with pruning back that are encroaching on to the pathway down to the pods. All in all though a great stay and would come back as long as the mattresses are improved.

This was our second visit (first was last year in summer) and though this time we had snow it was just as fabulous! What really makes it is the amazing location, spotlessly clean facilities, friendly and helpful staff and excellent cafe/shop. It is such a tranquil place and the wooden pod we stayed in was amazing... highly recommended! We can’t wait to return

Usually camp at lordstones in the summer with the kids but early part of the year myself and my husband stay for a weekend in the pods. It’s beautiful up there and the staff are lovely. The pod was the same one as we stayed in last year and was looking a little shabby and tired. We were offered alternative but decided to stay where we were due to the access being easier and the pod being more secluded. All in all though the stay was lovely, the staff are great and the food is amazing. We will be back in the summer 🤗

"Snowy stay"

We returned for our 3rd stay at the camping pods and had a lovely night in the snow. Plenty warm enough with the log burner and enjoyed a fabulous meal at the restaurant. Plenty warm enough with the log burner and enjoyed a fabulous meal at the restaurant. The staff are consistently friendly and helpful with great facilities Our only disappointment was the cleanliness of the pod which wasn’t up to its usual standard. However this hasn’t stopped us already planning our next trip and recommending it to everyone we know! Many thanks
