It had been nearly 10 years since we had been to Sandgreen having previously owned a caravan on the site however this time we were renting one. We arrived after the office shut but this was no problem as we were welcomed with friendly smiling faces and multiple helpful welcome packs/information guides. The caravan itself was spotless, spacious and so cosy, the site is wonderful with multiple walks and a fun park our child loved however the beach will always be my favourite part of this amazing site. There are lots of fond memories to be made on the gorgeous beach for people and furry friends which are also well looked after with a thoughtful doggy welcome pack.There’s so much to do close by to the site and the welcome/information pack includes it all, our favourites were the Cocoa Bean Factory and the Gem Rock Museum.Check out was so easy, we really cannot wait to return in the summer with more friends and family!

We had a lovely stay at Sandgreen over Easter with some family and grandchildren . The site is very well laid out and the caravans have lots of space and none are overlooked . The site is very clean and well cared for and right on the beach which is free from litter. The whole area has abundant wild life and we had a tree creeper in the tree near the caravan and saw a Jay in the Cally palace woods . The 3 mile walk through the woods to Gatehouse of Fleet is very scenic as is the walk to Carrick beach near by . We enjoyed a great takeaway from the Scran van in Kirkcudbright and also pizzas from the Lazy Crow in GOF . The best caravan we have stayed in .

Sandgreen is a beautiful place to visit. Everything was really easy - check in was quick and our caravan was ready on time. The accommodation was really clean and perfect for our family of three.The surrounding area is beautiful. Plenty of pubs/cafes/restaurants/takeaways. Lots of walking and amazing scenery - although nowhere beats the view from the beach at Sandgreen!The only reason I’ve knocked one star off is because towels weren’t supplied. Whilst this was noted in the booking terms and conditions, for the price, I do feel as though towels should be been included as a basic need. The double bed was uncomfortable, lumpy with a thin mattress. These are minor issues and would certainly not put me off booking again!

from the minute you arrive at sandgreen you feel relaxed and confortable. it is a lovely, clean small site which is especially good for an out of season break when you just want to get away. it makes you feel like you have just stepped off the world for a while and can totally chill out. the caravans are excellent, we have stayed in three different ones and all have been spotless and well stocked even down to placemats and coasters. having it's own private beach is just superb, even to paddle in in march! all in all a lovely place to take a break. will definetely be going again.

Close to the lovely Gatehouse of Fleet

First point of contact for us, the staff in reception- very helpful and friendly, which is always a good start to your holiday.Inside the caravan was immaculate, everything one needs and more including a welcome pack for our border terrier, which she enjoyed. Having a private beach was wonderful. We were impressed with the cleanliness and the care taken on the site, bins and fire points well situated around the park. Gatehouse of Fleet was a lovely village with a shop and café. Plenty of places to walk or bicycle rides near and around the area. This is the first private sight we have stayed in, peaceful with lovely views, we will definitely return. Families with children were on the site, all seemed to be having a good time. It was good not to have amusements and clubhouse, which was one reasons for us trying this site.

Right from the start we realised that we had made a good decision in picking Sandgreen for a short break. The caravans were well spaced out, with shrubs and trees between them, the caravan itself was scrupulously clean and virtually new, and we had been left tea, coffee and a breakfast pack of haggis, lorne sausage and bacon from a local butchers!The beach was a short walk away, and the coastal walking was excellent, with fine views over the Bay of Fleet towards Murray's Isles and Ardwall Island, and a delightful succession of small beaches and bays to the SE.For those interested in hillwalking, the Cairnsmore of Fleet is but a short drive away, and from the 711m summit we saw the Lake District, the Isle of Man, the Mountains of Mourne, the Mull of Galloway, Ailsa Craig, as well as the mountains of Galloway to the north.Wildlife spotted locally included 2 badgers, one at Sandgreen, several red kites, and a red squirrel.Already considering returning for a week next summer.

We have been loyal customers of Sandgreen for the last 3 years. We have loved our holidays there and made some very precious memories. Unfortunately, on this occasion, the whole experience was tarred with the park managers rudeness and attitude. Some examples of this related to me asking for an extra roll of kitchen roll and putting my token in the wrong washing machine. I was made to feel stupid each time! She wasn’t helpful or kind and I found she took enjoyment away from our week. To top it all off, we left the caravan in great condition - lived in, but looked after; no damage, rubbish, bed sorted, towels together, bleached toilet…however, this was not enough!After returning home, we got a heavily worded, rude and cheeky email from her saying there had been a mark on the couch that they couldn’t get off. She said she wouldn’t charge us for the dry cleaning of this single seat couch on this occasion! It was a water mark from a water bottle! The caravan is not suitable for families!

Access to sandy private beach with great views.Caravan very new, clean, double glazed and central heating good for October weather.No site lights - can easily see milky way galaxy and great views of other dep sky objects with my 8 inch telescope.Nice Scottish breakfast welcome pack.
