Spanning 14 acres, this AA 5 Gold Pennant site is based close to the gorgeous Suffolk Coast and has garnered a string of prestigious awards over the years. These include David Bellamy Gold Awards for conservation and a place in Practical Caravaners' 'Top 100' campsites in the country—testaments to its excellence and popularity among guests.
The site offers a great range of pitches, catering to motorhomes, campervans, caravans, and tents. From fully serviced hardstanding pitches to grass serviced pitches and standard pitches, Haw Wood Farm Caravan Park provides a variety of options to suit every camper's preference. The commitment to harmonising with nature is evident in the adjacent Wild Flower and Young Woodland Walk, inviting visitors to indulge in peaceful strolls amidst the beauty of native flora and fauna.
One of the standout features of Haw Wood Farm is its meticulously maintained amenities. A 2022 refurbishment project resulted in Platinum Award-winning bathrooms that boast underfloor heating for comfort during cooler evenings and winter months. The facilities include shower and toilet rooms with hand dryers, hair dryers, and full-length mirrors. Families can make use of the self-contained family bathrooms, complete with shower, toilet, sink, and baby change units, while an accessible shower room caters to wheelchair users.
The wash up and laundry facility in the main building offers convenience with large sinks for washing up, a freezer for ice, and washing machines and tumble dryers, enabling campers to pack lighter and stay longer. The on-site shop is well-stocked and reasonably priced, providing everything from daily essentials to camping equipment and local products.
For those who prefer to let someone else do the cooking, the on-site cafe welcomes guests with a variety of options. The menu, especially extended during the summer, offers vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free alternatives, ensuring a diverse and inclusive dining experience.
Families with well-behaved dogs are welcomed at Haw Wood Farm. While on a lead around the park, dogs can enjoy freedom in a large grazing meadow, which provides a space for them to stretch their legs and play freely. The highlight for many children is the playground, where diverse equipment and a fun atmosphere create lasting memories and foster new friendships.
Haw Wood Farm's commitment to environmental sustainability is evident in its use of a biomass boiler to heat all hot water on-site. The boiler is fuelled by wood chips collected from the Hinton Estate, showcasing the site's dedication to eco-friendly practices.
Beyond the Park, Haw Wood Farm offers proximity to memorable family days out. The stunning Dunwich Beach, just 4 miles away, provides a picturesque coastal escape accessible by a short drive. Minsmere, recognized as one of the best birdwatching sites in Britain, sits a mere 5 miles from Haw Wood Farm, offering nature trails and birdwatching hides for enthusiasts and families alike.

The staff looking after this site are amazing and obviously care very much. The site is spotless and the team work all the time. They made me feel really welcome. I had a fire pit and had such a relaxing time. Can I just say the shower and toilet block are incredible best I have ever experienced. You have to keep pushing the button to get to the hot water in the shower but once it comes through. Oh my goodness amazing. Great place to go on cycle rides and I can’t wait to come back in the summer. Thank you for looking after me.
1st time staying here but would definitely come again. Lovely little shop and cafe/coffee shop. Toilets were really nice. Clean and lovely and warm and the showers were pretty much perfect. We stayed in our camper van with a large awning on the side and the pitches were a very generous size. Hopefully getting a large twin axle caravan soon and will definitely be booking up to stay here again.
This is an immaculate site with splendid shower block and cafe, with a small shop. The staff were friendly and available. They made great coffee, breakfasts and fish and chips on Fridays. The hook up and pitch water supplies were good and the hard standings level, so we didn't need to use blocks to level our motorhome. very good access to the sea and many fascinating wild-life areas. We visited Framlingham castle, Dunwich Heath, Sutton Hoo, Flatford Mill and Ickworth House in a 5 night stay. We've been several times before and will return.
A great welcome upon arrival and although we’d pre-selected a grass pitch we were offered a hard stand due to the weather forecast. We chose to stick to our plan but an alternative, more sheltered pitch was suggested in one of the meadows. The mature hedges offered superb protection from the gusty winds and we had the whole field to ourselves apart from a solitary pheasant. The toilet and shower facilities are the best you’ll find on any site, anywhere, always spotless and in great order. The money off offer for the local pub, the fox inn, is a must and the walk, once off the A12, is very pleasant. The local cycling on quiet lanes and off road options is absolute bliss with Southwold and Aldeburgh visited during our stay. We will return.
It’s such a lovely park, facilities are wonderful and staff really go above and beyond to make your stay even better.
The site was well maintain and the toilet blocks were lovely and clean. We booked a fully serviced hard standing pitch with electric, water and grey waste drain. The website advertised the pitch as 16 amp electricity but this is not true of all hard standing pitches, the pitch that we had chosen (HS13) was only 10 amp. It was not until one evening that we had to put the heating that we found out, as we kept tripping the electric out. The next morning I went to the shop/café to be advised that all pitches were 10 amp, the website clearly stated 16 amp, he said that he would get the manager to come and see us. When talking to the manager she advised that we were on a 16 amp pitch and the others were 10 amp, I then informed her that she was incorrect and we were on a 10 amp pitch and the other were the 16 amp. The website has since been corrected and now showing the correct amp for each pitch. The showers took an age to get hot and one night no hot water at all.
On arrival I was greated by dan one of the staff that run the site, he showed me the lay of the land and where my pitch was, followed by times of food. The nice thing was he remembered my name, which was a nice touch considering he had proberly meet a fair few people before me. The site is clean very well run and the food there is excellent . The toilets and showers are kept spotless, even when I went on a week where we had a lot of rain the fay before. Wpukd highly recommend
We loved this site so much, the staff were friendly and everything was so clean and very well maintained. My son absolutely loved the play park. We had a wonderful couple of days in Southwold on the beach and a walk round the harbour for oysters and a gin in the pub!
We always have our first outing of the season close to home to check for any problems in the caravan. This year we chose Haw Wood. We had not stayed here before. Well impressed with the site itself and the care taken to make guests feel at home. Super fully serviced pitch. Well appointed facilities. A cafe and shop on site and even freshly cooked fish and chips delivered to your pitch on a Friday if required. We liked it so much we booked another stay in July while we were there.
We very much enjoyed our stay here? We felt very welcome, very safe and very relaxed but still close enough to everything we would want to enjoy our holiday. The staff were wonderfully friendly, accommodating and very helpfull. The whole campsite and of all of its facilities were spotlessly clean. The cafe and shop was ideal stocked everything we needed, the childrens play area was great for my 7 and 10 yr olds, and the dog walking field it was a beautiful safe place to walk the dogs and the children. We enjoyed fishing 10 minutes away at Dunwich, with its lovely cafe and shop and the market in Saxmundham. We have already recommended this site to many of our friends and we wlll absolutely be returning to enjoy more of the many local attractions.Thank you
