Lovely location, would be ideal for touring caravan or tent but very restrictive when in Motorhome with no other transport. Restaurant had a private function on day we arrived, local pub shut for refurbishment, luckily had brought enough to put together a meal. Following day restaurant fully booked but they did very well and made room for us.

"Motor home camp site"

T Gray - Stayed with partner, Jun 2018

Access into site was fine along with electricity no problem and it was quiet there. Didn’t know about any entertainment the toilets/showers were a bit of a let down could have been cleaner and a touch more inviting No problems other than that

"Pretty scenery but messy site"

Anonymous - Stayed with friends, May 2018

Lack of hot water on a bank holiday weekend and general tidiness of camping site (electric pitches) let’s this venue down. Bins not emptied either. Lake beautiful.

I was thrilled to find this site accepted DofE groups! there are great footpaths nearby for walking -very well maintained, and the facilities are excellent! Linda greeted us upon our arrival, and was very accommodating to us, giving us maps of the site and all the other information we needed. The pitch for our tents was excellent - slightly sloping, but flat, well-maintained and well drained. The ground is good quality earth, holds pegs well, but easy to drive them in. I hope our school will use this site again in future, all our staff were very impressed, wiith several commenting that it was the nicest campsite they'd ever been to!

"Kids loved the Banana boat ride!"

Anonymous - Stayed with family, May 2018

We had a lovely bank holiday in touring caravans with friends, all the kids went on a banana boat ride and loved it. We also walked through the church yard to another park and visited the nearby Gosfield Antiques centre. Great BH weekend!

"A lovely location but a few things let it down"

Mrs C Martin - Stayed with friends, May 2018

The grass had been cut but not collected, resulting in big clumps of wet grass everywhere - and this stained feet and was walked into tents and toilet facilities. Would have expected this to have been picked up. State of toilets - was pretty nasty. Grass everywhere.... The grass had been cut but not collected, resulting in big clumps of wet grass everywhere - and this stained feet and was walked into tents and toilet facilities. Would have expected this to have been picked up. State of toilets - was pretty nasty. Grass everywhere. Buckets with mop in were filthy dirty. Blocked toilets - sanitary bits just left next to bins. I know this was down to the campers - but this was not regularly monitored or frequently(enough) cleaned. That aside, the lake is stunning, the view beautiful - and a very relaxing weekend. Our party went on the banana boat - and it was a real success with the kids having the best time. We will be back, but hope you get a few of these niggles sorted!

"Lovely, friendly staff. Very relaxed and peaceful atmosphere."

The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Very relaxed and peaceful atmosphere with very clean showers/toilets for the ladies, unfortunately the mens toilets were dirty where somebody had not cleaned up after themselves. Due to a wedding at the hall... The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Very relaxed and peaceful atmosphere with very clean showers/toilets for the ladies, unfortunately the mens toilets were dirty where somebody had not cleaned up after themselves. Due to a wedding at the hall adjacent to the campsite we had a wonderful firework display in the evening too! Good value for money and a great weekend.
